Haha, get this idiot, calls the MCU trash then says MoS is pretty awesome. What a wet wipe.
Also, Logan is a very good idea, just poorly executed due to the forced relationship with Logan and Lyra from HDM. so many developments in that movie just felt like they were hammering it into the viewer that it was Logan's last outing, like living with that family who end up dead and then taking care of the Lost Boys, it was so hokey at times, but Logan fights himself and dies so "ItS aRt AnD hAs MoRE emOTionAl ReSOnAnCe THaN tHe McU"
Not to mention the FOX-Men timeline is all over the place, thanks to DoFP which uses time travel a lot worse than Endgame (And i love DoFP btw). |

Sorry, but no, that is such a narrow-minded viewpoint and would mean so many shows and movies suck for that very reason....
You are a Star Wars (OT) fan, yes? What risks do they take when the dead characters can just turn into Force Ghosts and "be there" for the living characters? What about the EU which brings back characters that died in the movies (Palp and Maul)?
What about Twin Peaks? That show ended (for the second time) with so much ambiguity on who Carrie Page was, it's implied that she was Sarah Palmer in an alternate reality..... Which is no different to the MCU's way of bringing the likes of Loki back....
There's absolutely 100% emotional payoff with the death of Iron Man, and to say there isn't, is just complete bullshit.
Do I wish for Infinity War to stick? Sure, but remember, these are family movies, not the fvcking Departed in which everyone is off limits.
And minor/recurring characters have died, from the Warrior Three, to Quicksilver, to Vision, to The Ancient One, to Heimdall, to Zuri, to Carter, to Frigga, to Odin, to Yondu, to Groot, to Gamora..... All of these, from the main timeline, are gone.....
Joss had every intention of keeping Coulson dead, until Marvel decided they wanted a spy-like series centered around SHIELD and wanted a familiar face in the main character role.....
Supernatural has been using this trope for 15 years, and people don't have a problem with it (except me, because it's repetitive nonsense at this point, was fine with it during seasons 1-5 because it had a reason)....
When i lambast Justified for the same thing, having absolutely ZERO stakes due to cliched deus ex writing (see the final episode) i'm called a moron and am told character deaths don't equate to quality...... Yet there are so many people in your boat that can't see why a movie series with talking racoons, trees, purple titans, spider-teens, and most importantly, time travel, shouldn't resurrect characters and when they do, it's labelled "cheap deus ex with no emotional stakes"......
At least the guy that started this whole thing, Iron-Man, sacrificed himself to save the people he loved..... the likes of Justified and The Americans take the easy way out and have characters surviving all kinds of ridiculous crap like dynamite or having your FBI neighbour just letting you go on your merry way when he finds out you are the ones he has been chasing for 6 seasons.... Absolutely contrived writing that is celebrated as genius and emotionally resonating :/ |
