He was starting to get bored. Argyle sat up in his limousine and checked his watch. It said 11:45. John must have found his lady and things must have been going well for them. "Maybe I should try calling him and see if he needs me to stay?" he thought. He picked up the cellular phone in the limo and dialed the number John gave him earlier in the evening. There was no response. He tried again. Still nothing.
"I'll try the front desk. Maybe they can patch me through to the party."
He tried the front desk, and got the same response...nothing.
This didn't sit right with him. He decided to get out of his limo and go check things out for himself. He walked up to the garage elevator and saw a security guard stationed outside.
"Hey my man, do you know what floor the Nakatomi party is on?" he asked.
The guard just looked at him.
"I said, do you know what floor the Nakatomi party is on?" he said, a bit louder this time.
The guard responded this time, but not to Argyle. He picked up a radio, said something in a foreign language, got a response, and looked right back at Argyle.
"Wait a minute, what is going on here?" Argyle said, slowly starting to back away.
But it wouldn't matter. The guard picked up his gun and fired a round of bullets square into Argyle's chest.

Upstairs, Karl was also getting bored. Breaking into the safe was taking too long for his liking, and the death of his brother had him fuming. He decided the best course of action was to take his mind off of things for a brief moment. He walked through the party area, picked up one of the gifts left beneath the tree, and took it with him into one of the offices.
"Merry Christmas to me" he said with about as much disdain as a person could muster when opening a gift.
He unwrapped the paper and found a small box. He pulled out his knife and slid it through the tape on the top, and ripped open the sides. What he didn't see was the little wire that he had cut when he cut open the box.
"Noooooooooo" he began to yell, as the detonator went off.
BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!
The others came running, but the only thing left in that office after the explosion was a pile of rubble, some dust, and very small bits and pieces of Karl splattered all over everything.
