Would it have been more effective if Elliot had the gun and pointed it/threatened/shot Tyrell? If Elliot completely broke after a whole season of misdirection and paranoia and was SO confident it was all another Mr. Robot ruse that he shot Tyrell? I think it might've, if only because it was obvious Elliot would survive in the version we got which kinda lessened the impact of him being wrong. The scene was still amazing but the opposite would've been pretty heavy too
eh I'm not sure it would've since the assumption by many already was that Elliot shot Tyrell in the arcade back in S1, so shooting him 'again' wouldn't have had as big of an impact. I never subscribed to the Elliot=Tyrell theories at all cuz they make no sense logistically, but I was pretty convinced that THIS instance of Tyrell was part of Elliot's subconscious, so the reveal did catch me really off-guard

This would make sense except that there was a bullet casing at the scene, so the gun definitely went off
