What defines plot progression for you? I suppose it depends on what you're watching the show for, but an episode where Walt is able to be absolutely honest with Skyler about how he perceives their relationship, abandoning any pretense of the loving, caring husband feels pretty necessary to me! As is Skyler's admission that she wants him dead.

And even then, there was enough progression of the Madrigal plotline/Fring case that I don't know how you'd call it filler-y.

I thought that was the best episode yet this season! I dunno what Vernon looks for in this show exactly

Pretty much the ONLY scenes I didn't care for were the ones with LYDIA. Her character is really annoying. I know that's sort of on PURPOSE but still

But everything with Skyler and Walt was so great. The scene at the dinner table with Skyler teetering on the edge of the pool in the background was so... disquieting. It's hard to put it into words really. And Walt's confrontation with Skyler in the bedroom was really great. I think this might be Gunn's best season yet.

I thought Hank was gonna turn down that promotion at first. I think he still might tbh. The way the guy said that Hank was gonna be overseeing everything and wouldn't be in the field for the HEISENBERG case anymore doesn't seem like something Hank would be okay with, and he pretty much said he was only saying "yes" because of Marie. I think Hank will turn it down because of his obsession with WHITE WHALE HEISENBERG and it'll end up costing him his life

And also, PRETTY SURE Walt's gonna end up killing Skyler by the end of this season. I think he'll use the ricin to do it

Yeah that was unpleasant. Walt imbues this sense of aggression and danger now. At any moment I expected him to lose control and attack Skyler and even debated with myself whether or not he'd killed her during the scene where he was stirring his cereal.

Very uncomfortable viewing indeed.

Just re watched the Pilot breakfast scene on Walt's 50th birthday. I had forgotten the bacon scene from that episode.

Anyone else notice that quick shot of skyler when flossing, tying it around her finger like a noose? I love little details like that.

Season 5 has a very interesting feel to it. Each episode has had a focused and self contained story, but at the same time the plot keeps steadily advancing. I would struggle to name a favourite episode because they have all felt so different. Maybe it has been a while since my re watch and this is nothing new to the show, but is anyone else getting this same feeling?

I'd say this one was definitely different from the norm since there was very little else besides the Walt/Skyler scenes. The other 3 I think felt more normal-ish

I spent the whole episode just waiting for some of Walt's HUMANITY to return somehow. But he's so awful now.

I noticed that even when it SEEMED we had seen a glimpse of Walt's humanity come back when Jesse gives him the watch, the very next scene he flaunts it like a TROPHY. He won his mind game against Jesse and he sees the watch as nothing more than proof of his victory

it's all epic, that's how i feel about it....stroytelling perfection with great dialogues, awesome music and of course stunning images. the bestest most awesomest show ever. not a single episode sucks. it's all quality yo. the show gets better and better with every episode it progresses forward.

not for a second watching this show i have ever thought: "well that story-arch/-development is silly/unneeded/boring" or something like that. every fuckin episode is the shit. i think every episode i see is basically the best of the season. until i see the next one. then i think WHOA SHIT that was even better etc.....just the development, that journey, it's so far away beyond average tv, it cannot be compared to any other show really. breaking bad is playing in a league of its own.

season 5 is delivering, just like the seasons before, only even more. end times, not end times? chances are being pushed, can't say if it feels right or wrong, but it seems many people are losing their cool now that we're in round 5. and those akward moments the characters have like 'uhm, what did you just say?'...or '...*silent*....' are totally getting through to the viewer. man, shit is creepy at times, from a psychological point of view this can have a run with alfred hitchcock like back in his days. things are getting ugly for sure.

i don't have a favrit episode this season, so far...i just see it as one epic collective, i am amazed by every single episode, especially of coures in this season. but ever since the start really...gat-damn this show...i'm eating that candy like a boss. eating huge amounts of actual candy, while watching that eye-candy on the intrawebs. totally candy baby. it got me.

now to this episode in particular. i really liked how walt "seemingly" defeated skyler in the argument about the kids, and then got bitch-slap'd by her at the end, when she was basically saying "i hope you'll die very soon" - thus my "oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh snap" on the c-box btw (:

shocking stuff. i was thinking "HERE COMES JOHNNY" when walt shaved his head and sat down at the table the next morning...damn

"bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bonfire", that little video montage, genius! the way the cam goes with the music elements, just great....i lol'd good when i saw it this morning

walt's "nothing stops this train" - calling it now, we'll see an actual train this season, and something's not okay with it. even if it's just a very misleading blurry close up of a toy train lying on it's back or whatever that has you thinking a real crash went down...just so it zooms out and you see walt staring at one of those toy railraods, sitting in a mall or whatever, at the toy sections..(maybe looking for something to buy for holly...)...the train will happen (:

lulz that's great

Anyways great great episode, Walt's creepiness made me uncomfortable this whole episode. His whole demeanour with Skylar is very disturbing. Great stuff with Walt Jr. and the cars that added sum comedy to the episode. Hank's promotion is going to be an interesting scenario as I think this means he'll be less involved in the Fring case and more involved with the whole picture. Wondering what that means in terms of his story or if he'll realize its not the job he wants.

The whole stuff with Lydia was decent too, I guess the big question going forward is who really put the tracking device on the can. I think it was her since she wouldn't have had the time to carefully plant it inside and Mike knows this for sure so I'm curious what happens next. Can't wait! Sucks that we will only be getting 4 more episodes left before next year. :(
