The Maze Runner. Really liked it, should have read the books first though.

In comparison to the Hunger Games movies? Better? I have it but I'm not convinced to watch it yet.
I used to travel the universe, but settled for parks.

I think it was pretty different. I'm a huge fan of Hunger Games, both the books and movies, but I had very little information what Maze Runner would be about and really enjoyed it. I will read the books and plan to be ahead of the next movie when it comes out.

I was already invested in some of the Hunger Games characters from the books. I can see how I would have felt the same about Maze Runner had I read the books first.

Valkyrie - Really good movie set in WWII about a plot to assassinate Hitler. Stars Tom Cruise. This is not Kaufman-esque, but still very good.

Whiplash

Veryyyy good. On every level really. The acting and editing definitely standout. This and Birdman are the best new movies I've seen this year

didn't go yet but don't know where it would be better to post.

We're going to the movies on Friday to see either The Theory of Everything or American Sniper [show times fit best into our schedule]. We also decided that instead of spending money on candy / gifts that we would go to Saturday 1 of AMC's Best Picture Showcase on February 14 to see Grand Budapest Hotel (10:00), Whiplash (12:00), Birdman (2:05), and Selma (4:55). P fun Valentine's Day I hope.

Unfortunately we can't go to Saturday 2 of the Showcase on February 21 because of previous plans. Boyhood, The Theory of Everything, Imitation Game, and American Sniper.

That's a lot of movies in one day!

I heard Selma was very good so I'm going to go see it. I started watching Grand Budapest Hotel on a plane and liked it at first but then got bored. I might revisit it sometime. I also wanted to see Birdman but, since Curtis says it's good, not so sure now. (:

Nicky's Family is also really good. It's a true story about a man who helped rescue children from the Nazi's in Prague in 1939.

I'm trying to get the most out of Netflix right now. At first I was into documentaries about 9/11 conspiracy theories and Flight 800 and now World War II movies. But anyway, this movie is really moving and I probably cried for 10 minutes straight near the end.

that's pretty similar to what I'm doing on the 14th actually! Marcus Theatres is doing the same thing. We'll be seeing Boyhood (1:20), Theory of Everything (4:30), Whiplash (7:00) and American Sniper (9:10). Those last 3 are the only BP nominees I haven't seen yet, and I wanted to watch Boyhood again anyway. So excited

the nice/bad thing is in this particular theater you can press a button whenever you want and have someone bring food to you. Like not just popcorn but pizza, burgers, etc. I'm gonna eat way too much that day
