2) Outside of Pearl Harbor we didn't have a single major strike on us (though there was some interesting sabotage here and there that I could share stories about). The UK got bombed constantly during the BoB. Russia got devastated. We lost 418k in WWII, , UK lost 450k, Russia lost 24 million. 24 million.

There is a reason we came out relatively untouched from WWII and became a superpower.

Also- Cinco de Mayo came from France, so every time we eat tacos and drink tequila, we have the French losing to thank.

WW2 was a team effort guyz. If you remove any of the allies out of the picture, things would have turned out very different. I'd definitely agree that Russia played a bigger part than anyone else in crippling the Wehrmacht tho. But if they had fought the war alone I doubt they would have won. I think the amount of equipment the other allies sent + the opening of multiple fronts helped them a lot. The Germans came very close to capturing Moscow as it was. Without the USA, we wouldn't have won. Huge manpower, massive resources to call upon etc. But also, without Britain we wouldn't have won. (no bias, for realz) There would have been no logistical way for the Americans to enter the war in Europe if they didn't have access to Britain as a base of operations. Also, Btw American leadership was very dumb. Alan Brooke was the shit. That is all Is Boolshit the history channel now?

Hitler lost because he got greedy and went west before he was done with Russia giving him 2 fronts. Had he ended Russia first, then recouped for a bit and gone west, he would have rolled through Europe before the US could get their act together and help out. Then we would have had to nuke the entire place.

That is the proper strategy in Axis and Allies.

Though technically he rolled West first while he had the nonaggression pact with Russia, then decided to open up the second front on that side.

Hitler also had a globe that he wrote over Russia on it "I am coming"

Also, I only recently learned that the US casualty rate was higher in the Civil War than it was in WW2. That was very surprising to me.

Does anyone else think that games like Total War and Civ are actually preventing the next Hitler from coming to power, and that the Hitlers of our time soothe their megalomaniac tendencies by taking over the world as computer Ghandi?

Furthermore, is it immoral to win as the Nazis in a video game? Because I did once and I didn't feel bad at all. Not even after I nuked all of Britain and the US into submission.

Newer age weapons with old ass tactics was the main reason. Imagine a whole platoon of dudes standing in an open field 50 yards from an auto cannon.
