Boc @ 29/11/2012 0:45 You're from the Phillippines? lol sometimes, yes (: Dutchiee @ 29/11/2012 1:00 farcry 3 comes out today. will pick it up in the next few weeks i hope. not worth full price from what i heard. seriously, been reading benchmark tests and opinions since yesterday. game is bugged, comes with a day1 patch <---- always an indicator as to the game hasn't been finished yet....it's common practise nowadays though, slaves to the deadline. it's a HUGE hardware-eater, story is supposed to be REALLY weak - it's a big sandbox, with colorful surroundings and thousand of mini games. doesn't look as good as promised, eats your hardware like candy. another hardware blowout game that lacks too many things to be taken seriously. the franchise died years ago...far cry 2 was already a letdown in terms of gameplay, it just looked great. i'll be downloading it, then i'll decide whether it's rly worth spending money on. maybe the german company (crytek) deserves some money.....BUT THEN AGAIN, they released on ubisoft and ubisoft games come with their mandatory platform, UPLAY, which is not cool at if you ask me. unreachable servers, fuckin copyright priorities so high that some people can't play even if they bought the game....great detection, not. ubisoft is a bitch company. talking about how the PC platform is not valuable since pirates just download everything.... yeah, shot in our own foot there, ubisobs publishers and developers these days make it easy to not want to buy their shit....

I heard it wasn't bad. Scored fairly well on metacritic also. Apparently the world and environment are a much bigger improvement on 2. But I probably wont pick this up until 13' anyway.

Anyone played Farcry 3? Thought the trailer was interesting and it got some good reviews, any thoughts?

Same with Dawnguard (Skyrim DLC) and the new X-com DLC´s (armor pack? and Slingshot). Worth the money?

slingshot apparently is like $6-7, only works when you start a new game tho. so im gonna get this at a future point. apparently you get 3 new council missions, a couple maps with such and a character. It maybe affects the research and items a little, allowing you to research some things a tad earlier or something. Minimal change really, hopefully they have a bigger dlc at some point... more weapons, aliens, maps etc.

didnt even realize a skyrim dlc was out.

also I just purchased the walking dead game on steam last night, as apparently its the shit.

Which one? There's a point-and-click one, and an FPS. Either way, I'd be interested to get your feedback.

Incidentally, I'ma have some free time coming up this month. Anybody out there interested in doing some L4D, L4D2, or Reach?

Dawnguard doesn't really add anything worth the asking price. If you have a thing for vampires, maybe it'll do something for you but I personally felt cheated. I never really delved into the extra quests because they honestly didn't interest me in the slightest.

Hearthfire I got some good genuine enjoyment out of and it cost less. I think of the two expansions, it's more worthwhile but it depends if you really feel like constructing a house. I personally liked the challenge and customisation aspect more, and feel like it adds something extra to the game whereas Dawnguard is a few extra quests tacked on with no real benefit.

EDIT: The only thing I did enjoy was the crossbow, but I'm not even sure if that wasn't in the original game. Was it? Either way it doesn't feel like much for the asking price.

DOUBLE EDIT: The face sculptor in the thieves guild is actually kind of cool. Sometimes I want to change my appearance. I feel like this should've been included in the original game personally. I don't ever full on change facial features but it's nice to occasionally change the beard or hairstyle amongst other stuff. As an RPG, these things feel kind of integral to the experience but I dunno. It's largely superficial afterall.

Ah, yes, that's the one I'm interested in. Lemme know how it is, so I know whether or not to pick it up for the 360.

started it yesterday, is pretty good actually.

Has a strong story and gets you involved quickly.

Gameplay is pretty good for a QTE game, which isn't usually my thing.

How is it lengthwise? The episodic structure makes me think it'll be reasonably short...

well, I have heard each episode is 2hours+. And there are 5.
I think I read somewhere roughly 12 hours.

So it's limited I guess, but it costs only $25 for season pass which isn't so bad.

funny, installed the walking dead game like a week ago. all 5 episodes. played the first 30 minutes....was meh. wasn't bad, wasn't as great as people told me either. i guess ZOMBIES just ain't my thing....+ the comic art isn't that STYLISH in my opinion.

currently playing GTA IV, and i gotta admit it's a great game. it's the next evolution of GTA, compared to GTA SA or VC it is different. But now after some time, i can really enjoy it for what it is. a great step forward in the GTA universe. Also got me the episodes from liberty city "the lost and damned" and "the ballad of gay tony". the latter is especially fun to play. one of a kind vibes delivered there. just little moments, like Gay Tony saying "bye bye gentlemen" in a rly high voice (on purpose) while walking away and waving @ friends of louis'...hilarious.

also, FUCK far cry 3 really.....wow, a big disappointment. so bugged, so much performance need of your hardware...and shit looks weird no matter how you tweak it. fail development. NOT worth more than 20 bucks. if you got bandwidth to waste, dwnld that shit and see for yourself...the stroy ( a big deal for me in games) is REALLY lame and just bad, plain and simple. no structure in that game. one big fuckin sandbox, bugs all over, and stupid pirates and idiotic animals in your "way".....far cry 1 > far cry 2 > far cry 3.....go figure

I've been playing Saints Row which I got from the Humble bundle (http://www.humblebundle.com/), which I recommend you guys get if you haven't already.

It's basically how GTA should be, fuck realism, have fun.
