Expendables 2 was amazing |
i take it you're amazed by explosions and silly one-liners eh? (: | "There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."

Its not suppose to be a serious action movie. The way I look at it is that its an action packed comedy with cheesy one-liners and generally making fun of action movies. Thats what I loved about it! Its the most fun ive had in the cinema this year, probably for a long time really. Havnt laughed this much for a long time. Went with a few of my friends in a packed cinema with pumped up guys. It was pretty awesome!
The point of the movie was to make a silly action movie surrounded with humor, and its spot on.

Action packed comedy. They are essentially making fun of themselves and the other silly action movies

Paranorman is fantastic and you all should see it |
Really? It's showing with Diary of a Wimpy Kid at the Drive-In so I was planning to take the kiddos this weekend. |
Yeah, it's great. Really charming, funny, and touching. The score is great too and the animation is fantastic. Also there's a really small character moment near the end that's pretty awesome/rare for a kid's movie.

Exactly you can't go into it expecting a serious movie like Bourne Legacy or something. It was hilarious and watching it in theatre was that much more fun cause everyone had a good time watching it. Its a throwback to the fun 80's mindless action films with silly one liners and that's what made it amazing. You're only going to be disappointed if you were expecting something else.

lol I didn't see Bourne Legacy yet, probably going tomorrow but I assumed it was as serious as the trilogy. Not sure if its become campy or not.

I love how Jeff think 80's action movies were mindless....when it was COLD STEEL everywhere and serious business....i'd rather call all marvel movies mindless to be honest...or these new action movies today...a la expendables, countless jason statham movies, that john cena 12 rounds bullshit, there's nothing wicked about action movies today except CGI and explosions....heroes with babyfaces and tight jeans....
fuck you saying the 80's action movies are mindless! | "There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."

lol I love 80's movies, I wasn't saying most of em all. Most of my favourite movies are from the 80's, I'm not saying all of them are but I'm saying there are some that followed the trend. In fact, I live for the 80s and usually listen/watch 80's music and movies whenever I can.

I like good action movies, with satisfying action and consistent geography. Loud explosions, references to how awesome THE GLORY DAYS OF 20-YEARS AGO were, lack of self-awareness, homophobic homoeroticism, that is the Expendables 2. An awful script weighed down by boring direction and cinematography, uninterested performances, and bafflingly awful music choices.

Just saw Paranorman and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Both really good, but I doubt Diary would be something most of you would want to see. | A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something. But by enduring that pain and overcoming it, he shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart. A fullmetal heart. |
