Oh snap it already started. I gotta find out if I get this HBO Signature. I wouldn't mind rewatching season two since people apparently love that after a second time

it becomes a lot more palatable a second time but the first episode is still weighed down with exposition.

Also how are they airing it in HD? Wasn't the show all shot in 4:3?

I caught that David Simon cameo in the finale. He was sitting at a desk at the Sun and a sign in front of him said "SAVE OUR SUN!" /season5

Is Simon a bit of a hack? I've never seen him an in interview or anything but I always picture him as kind of a dik (:

I really just meant hack as in dik tbh

He's very opinionated and (justifiably?) arrogant. I've read a book of his, The Corner, which is all about a family torn apart by the drug trade in Baltimore. It's beautifully written, but there's a lot of smug, self-indulgent, long-winded tangents talking about the hopelessness of these sections of the city. He also seems to dislike that people only caught onto the Wire five years after it ended, which is understandable because it was on the verge of cancellation after every season.

But I still like reading what he has to say about things. He's a great writer. Check out his blog!

Yeah this is pretty much what I'm basing my opinion off of. I don't really know much about him besides those comments

I guess I prefer that to David Chase actively hating a large portion of the audience that watched his show lol

Cool that they're doing a whole season in a day. This is the ideal show for that really. I wouldn't mind sitting down to binge 1 or 2 since its been awhile
