Fun blindside, but pretty stupid of the guys IMO. They've based every vote on what COULD happen with the persons loved one down the road. That's why they're losing everything and why they'll likely all be picked off at the merge
John would've pulled Candice into their group, especially since Candice is against her original tribe. That would've been a number for them which they desperately are gonna need. And the Candice/John pair would've been a big threat and kept the targets off of their back
Plus, Brad told the two girls that he'd be voting them out otherwise. Uhh..don't you think they'll probably go to their moms at the merge now (:
Real silly tbh | |

That was beyond stupid for the men. John was obviously on their side and strong in challenges. But he did make a pretty noob mistake of not sharing the idol clue with his alliance when it was so public. I liked him but that was just stupid.
I hate Brad sfm
The preview for next week looks great. Candice <3 She actually has a personality this time
I can't believe Colton quit when he is such a huge fan. 13th and 19th awk

Yea voting out John was stupid with a capital Brad. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

Accidentally started casually browsing this thread before I watched the show and read this sentence before I realized what I was doing. Immediately figured it was probably John. Although the edit made it blatantly clear that there was really no other option anyway.
Stupid move though. Brad's logic is completely borked. So he's concerned if Candice comes back, John and her will be able to take a little bit of power from him. So instead he takes him out and leaves two huge threats at Redemption, both wanting to take him down when they get back and give them open house to trash talk him at the challenge like Marissa and Rachel did. Dude's playing almost exactly like Joel from Micro and he's probably going to go out in a forgettable whimper just like Joel did too. Keeping weak people when you're down in numbers is the last fucking thing you need to do. Suppose people may be thinking about hooking up with their loved ones once it's back to merge, but it's not like Monica's in any position of power. Not to mention, as Curtis already pointed out, he just revealed the tribe structure to everyone out in the open. Katie and Ciera are going to mommy if there's a swap or merge 100% now. Congratulations.
Colton's a dickwad and I hope he's never on this show again. It's a crime we've never been able to see him get voted out. What a little bitch.
Got real worried there about Tyson when he hurt his shoulder, glad it was just a scare. |

> Lose every challenge
> Vote out one of your better players because he might have an idol and you don't want him teaming up with his wife who would need to win about 7 or 8 more duels (truels) for that to happen

Seriously, I don't get the tribe dynamic. I mean, I agree with Dylan...erm...James on the front that at least Brad is thinking and playing, but his thinking is awful and his gameplay is hurting him more than helping. His game is VERY short sighted and he has a lot coming to him within the next few rounds. I'm liking him less and less.
I wasn't a huge John fan because he wasn't the best either, but at least he was loyal. I honestly was hoping SO much for the Brad blindside. That would have just made the season for me!! But I knew getting rid of Brad would be their worst decision in terms of the future. He's too big a threat and public enemy number 1. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Monica didn't team up with him or her tribe goes "We have to get rid of him" and she just goes with it because there is no hope.
But yeah, that tribe has no shot and will definitely go where they have to. I see Vytas going with Aras, Hayden going with Kat, Katie and Ciera going with their moms, and Brad will try to keep them all together and try to bring the other tribe in with him but no one will...he's going to get torn up and I can't wait.
Also, I'm loving those 2 girls winning at RI. I REALLY am actually hoping for a Marissa return..I wasn't initially, but her attitude and fire to come back is great and I'd love to see her get her revenge!

I was watching the insider videos they post after episodes and I forget who but someone commented that 2 people of like 9 will come back. Perhaps they were told that 2 people come back? I'm not sure but regardless I am rooting for both Candice and Marissa. I like John too. None have Matt like edits but perhaps they've learned from that. Marissa back in the game vs Brad would be great

Well they have never started with 3 people on RI before the first dual which makes me think it is 2 coming back which would be awesome because that would shift the dynamics that much more. They probably learned with Matt how he came back into the game and went right back out. This way it gives at least one person a shot to stay longer.
BUT, I'm definitely cheering for Candice and Marissa..pretty soon though I think that may change. I just want Candice to come back because she never got a shot to play the game. I think it would be interesting to see how she fits in and where she winds up if she comes back. Will she play with her old tribe against Brad after he voted John out and just try to understand she was voted out because people didn't know her, or will she try to work with the noobies? But with John out of the picture, chances of her going with the noobs is low which is what Curtis said I think. Brad got rid of the only person who could have grabbed that extra number for them.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT CANDICE WOULD DO AND THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT SO GREAT!!!
Also, was anyone else shocked that Gervase held his own and nearly took down Culpepper a few times in the challenge? I was pleasantly shocked and also disappointed because Brad was talkig such big game if he gets to face off against Gervase and didn't make much of it.

Yeah, I was. Even if he did lose, that's still pretty embarrassing. Former NFL Defensive End that made a living pushing around 300 lb hosses to try to sack a Quarterback struggling against a scrawny guy who can't swim. |

Gervase seems to be holding his own now. He's lucky they didn't go to tribal round 1, though I still think Colton would be targeted before him.
Honestly, I keep thinking back to that firs vote...people must really have not known anything about Candice because she was probably one of the strongest, if not the strongest girl on their tribe. I would take her over Colton challenge wise and gameplay wise any day. I was really shocked he wasn't the one to go and I bet they regret it more now.
I wonder what the dynamics are like for returning players on a season like this...some are friends outside of it or like Cochran and Dawn who played together. Like, it seems like it would be similar to when we continually play together and build those bonds - do you trust them this time? Do you team up again? How hard is it to strategize with/without them and eventually vote them out? I've never thought about it until just now.
And I think it was Rob who said something about Candice having some character this time - I never thought Candice was boring. I don't necessarily like her, but I always thought she was in the game and looking to make moves. In Cooks she had some flare arguing with Penner and in HvsV she got her hands dirty. She comes to play and I like that.

I completely agree with this. I would take her over Colton any day.
It's pretty well known that Candice and John were last minute replacements for RC and her dad, and I believe the cast knew that as well. Apparently there was a lot of pregame interactions before filming (both before the flight over and at Ponderosa right before filming), so it put Candice and John in a pretty bad position. This combined with Candice's reputation to jump ship on her tribe/alliance was enough for them to vote for her.
Lots of people seem to think the plan was to vote out Rupert and his wife asap, until RC and her dad left.

Haha Rupert being voted out first would have been surprising, but I hate his wife. She has no shot at this game.

I probably did say something like that.
While I generally love people who are willing to make moves just for the fact that they're willing to make moves (and absolutely loathe people who aren't, like Denise in China, Edna in SP, and the entire fricking Ometepe tribe), I really have a hard time enjoying Candice.
She certainly has the spirit of a game-changer, and that is genuinely a good thing, but making moves is only half of the battle - timing those moves is equally as important. On that front, Candice is batting 0 for 2.
She made a huge move and mutinied in Cook Islands - from a tribe that had expressed no interest in voting her out. Not only did that move bond the Aitu four together into an unbreakable unit, but it put a huge target on her where none had previously existed. She then spent the rest of the game whining about how much it sucked that people hated her for being a traitor, and bitching out Penner, who might conceivably have been convinced to rejoin Raro once it became obvious that Yul had the idol and probably wouldn't play it on anybody but himself. In HvsV, yes, she got her hands dirty, but at the stupidest possible moment and in the stupidest possible way. If she had stuck with the Heroes and taken out Russell's alliance, she'd have been in an amazing position, going up against some of the easiest people to beat in challenges, and could probably have gotten herself into the final three pretty handily. Instead, she chose to go with the obviously-tight foursome of Villains, and guaranteed herself fifth at best.
So... I guess I agree with you. Candice isn't boring. Her ability to make the wrong choice has actually been pretty entertaining - and it got even better when John was added to the mix. He proved to be just as good at Candice in the "throwing your game away" department by first hiding his clue from the rest of his alliance and then openly refusing to vote how they wanted. Match made in Heaven, right there...
