On train back to DC now. Nobody sat next to me yet, so I am very happy.

But for Merc: I've already dealt with a pee taxi. I also rode in a different taxi where the guy from Ghana explained that Dubya paid for them to have a freeway and so they named it after him.

Now I see the beautiful wrecked cars of Secaucus, NJ.

Train note three: Riding a train through NJ as opposed to driving the NJ Turnpike means you totally miss out on the smell of NJ.

Wear headphones. Even if idiots sit next to you, can ignore and be socially acceptable. Even if you're not listening to music, it just provides a handy barrier between you and the rest of the world.

We stopped in Newark to pick up/drop off people. Nobody sat next to me, even without headphones- I think leaving FE open on my lappy helped.

I had to google turnpike because I have never heard of that word, but it seems to be some sort of road path.

It's the name for a major North/South New Jersey toll road.

Apparently pike or turnpikes are typically toll roads, with the name coming from a pike (like a spear) being held across the road to force people to stop and pay the tool.

We just passed a regular-speed train and I wanted to roll down the window and yell "Acela, bitch!" but you can't roll down the windows because some idiot would jump out and kill himself.

People ruin everything.
