Just got home from doing the annual school shopping trip for the kids. Some of the things on this years list (and similar items on previous years' lists) are definitely not school supplies that the students should be providing. It's beyond annoying that the schools aren't funded enough that they can provide kleenex tissues for the classes, and instead, the students have to bring them.

Other fun non-student items I was required to purchase: hand sanitizer, post-it notes, white-board markers, ziploc bags, and way more lined paper than a student could use in a year.

Yes. It’s more what their teachers prefer items. However my experience is that most teachers spend a lot of their own money on supplies on top of what you supply.

This year is the first time in 22 years I haven’t had to worry about it. Hallelujah.

I went bungee jumping yesterday, it was a lot of fun and I have watched the video of it like 25 times because it makes me happy

Oh, I know they buy a bunch of stuff on their own, which sucks, because they make so little. This is why I will continue to buy those items and send them with my students, along with checking in with the teacher through the year to see what else they need. I just recall, not that long ago, where school districts picked up the costs for those types of items.

I'm also not looking forward to all the stuff I'm going to have to buy for my classes this semester...ugh.
