Vlady, c'mon man, you can't be serious. There is a big difference between feeding a baby bird until it's big enough to feed itself (reptilian trait), and caring for and living with your children for the better part of their/your lifespan (mammalian trait).

Sorry, but you have definitely not studied the breeding habits and family ties of birds. You should especially look into crows, who have fascinating social habits and have been shown to teach generations what people are good or bad, as well as strong family units:
|
American Crows are highly social birds, more often seen in groups than alone. In addition to roosting and foraging in numbers, crows often stay together in year-round family groups that consist of the breeding pair and offspring from the past two years. The whole family cooperates to raise young. |
I can give you all kinds of other bird examples, but apparently rock scientists spend too much time looking at archeopteryx and not enough on modern birds. :P

Here's the important part from your post: "Offspring from the past 2 years". You get 2 years, then you are gone. Sounds like a pretty long time to me.
I never said they weren't social creatures. Just not like mammals.

Two years is a long ass time in the life of a bird. Lots of mammals have booted their kids away long before that. You stated birds were like their reptile cousins and didn't give a fuck after the kid was born. I've now shown you different. Birds, while descended from reptiles, have advanced quite a bit.
Or, to coin a phrase from a rock guy I like: "learn to evolutionary biology, man." | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

Yeah what Vlady said. Just tell him you appreciate being considered, but you already took a job elsewhere. You won't burn any bridges that way.
