I think it also had to do with the chief members of that alliances relationship with the three. Devon/Lauren wanted to keep Ryan, Ben wanted to keep Chrissy. Ashley doesn't have much say to keep JP.

Just caught up, I LOVE this season, it's so good wow. It's a little predictable, but I love that we get to see some really good gameplay.
