Things I noticed about the premiere that haven't been mentioned already:
This cast is the most southern since Vanuatu, and possibly ever. So many accents! John and Julie, Keith and Wes, Missy and Baylor, Alec and Drew all repping the South, and Dale and Kelley being pretty rural as well. Special mention for Keith and Wes for being from Shreveport where I grew up (partially)!
We got a Twinnie moment at the beginning. I'm glad we got one, and I'm even more glad it will be the only one. It's amazing how they're so close and yet can't stop yelling at each other.
I love whoever it was that was so excited about the prospect of contracting tetanus.
Missy has been through three divorces, and as a result trusts her gut MORE now when it comes to her choice of men. lol
Beautiful choice of exile location! The only thing better than an artificial structure to make Exile memorable (Panama's big skull, Cook Islands's shipwreck, the Sugar Shack) is a natural structure like the Tocantins sand dune. The big ass rock spire is awesome.
In general, the beaches look a LOT better than they did in Nicaragua or RI, even though I'm recognizing things here and there. I think the Survivor editors employ colorists to give seasons shot in the same location different tints (for example, the greens in HvV look much deeper than the ones in Samoa to me), and I think they took the edge off the aggressive brownness of the sand and added to the blue of the ocean, which really does wonders.
I cannot frickin' believe Coyopa made their roof out of what is basically poison ivy. I don't foresee them doing very well in future challenges if they're that rock stupid.
Loved the challenge! I always appreciate it when they build stuff that goes upwards, I like challenges that allow for some creativity (like how you get everyone up the wall), and I am super excited that they're giving them really difficult puzzles right off the bat. Fuck putting together the season logo and fuck putting the numbers from 1 to 100 in order. That is not a puzzle, THIS is a puzzle.
Another quitter? FUCK. If we go by Jeff's definition of quitter, we haven't had a season with no quits since South Pacific (Colton, Dana, Brandon, Colton again, Lindsey). Get some hardier people, goddammit!
e: Brandon was the quit, not Shamar. "Voted out" my ass, he was looking for an exit and got one.

I liked the episode. The opening part was creative, showing all the 9 teams mixed in with the standard opening. That was pretty cool. Although I'm pretty pissed off they don't do the intro anymore. That always set the entire theme of the season in my opinion. That first reward challenge was alot of fun, it was predictable though that Jeremy would win, once the challenge was ACTUALLY underway, because gotta keep hope for female domination alive, right? But anyways, the fact that he had to choose someone from his own tribe to go to Exile with Val really put him out there, and I feel he handled it pretty smoothly once they came to camp. And I hope he can do well. I did feel a bit awkward by Missy's statement about her husband's, lol. I like the fact that my gurl Kelley looks like she is in a good position. Much better then the robbed goddess of RI (Krista) was at this point of the game, which is a plus point and makes me excited to see more of Kelley! Julie throwin shade was fun, I like her so far! And that discussion between John and Wes was a little annoying imo, sure Wes looked funny practically breathing down John's neck, but it already shows that Wes will become John's puppy dog, which I'm not waiting for. If John can use 'intimidation' as a strategy... fine, go ahead. But c'mon, don't let it be with practically the most predictable dumbass of the season.
My fannasy gurl Natalie doin well!<3
I liked Dale alot, him telling his story about social awkwardness and poor social skills, was something I could relate with. So I liked him already for that. And him provin himself with the fire making thangs was awesome!
The challenge was creative, I really liked that challenge! And it was so exciting and not predictable. I was glad Blue won just for the fact my 3 favorites (Natalie, Kelley and Jon) would be safe.
Once the orange tribe was back at camp and stratigizing and stuff, was cool. It was smart of Dale to use the past expierence card and trying to push the vote to Nadiya. Did I like it... No! But I have to give credit where it's due, he did a good job getting the target off his ass! I love the twinnies, so seeing Nadiya getting the first boot was pretty sad. I like Baylor, mainly because she looks like she can be a good Survivor player, how she was standing there strategizing with Josh looked cool. But her flop at TC was a bit dissapointing, her already flipping on the girls is annoying. Because that means Male Dominance is awaiting us -.-. That's not what I'm waiting for, espicially with the 2 jocks in there, and the follower Wes. Let's hope that can change. And Josh voting FOR Baylor, RIGHT after hearing Baylor say she'd vote however he'd vote was kind of funny, but a little annoying at the same time, as that talk between those 2 before TC gave me hope for a power duo in the making. But once the votes were actually being read, and I saw Baylor's name come up, I was literally liked: 'OMG, wut? She cannot be the first one out!'. And seeing that it would be either Dale or Nadiya was hard to choose from, since I liked both of them alot. But I woulda loved to see more of Nadiya, but Dale's story was also intriguing. So it was hard seeing one of them go.
But overall a pretty strong episode. And makes me very excited for future episodes! It's gonna be sweeet! <3

Love for Val for so brilliantly integrating in her tribe and totally showing the audience she knows how to make a comeback and actually PLAY THE GAME! :-D
I haven't got any favorites yet, but I like the son and dad who dropped the flint in the beginning, Wes and Keith I think. I also like Baylor, not sure why swing vote guy voted for her out of all people. They seemed close.
Idk if anyone already mentioned this but regarding the moment @ TC where it looked like Val was pretending to reach for the idol as people watched her...does anyone else think that was just editing? Maybe she really did that, but I think it would be silly since she wasn't even on the chopping block. When I was watching I remember thinking, that doesn't even fit, they edited that in, she was probably reaching down to scratch her leg or something.

Def editing doing their thing, but it adds onto the suspense of the vote.
