I mean they seem to be getting to the point where they need to drag out and diverge a lot because they're reaching the point where they'll be bypassing the books soon | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

I think they have a plan/justification for every choice they make going forward, since they know the rest of the plot.
...i hope so anyway! | |

Guess I need a new desktop background now
Old One: not a spoiler
If it's unlucky, maybe I should make it Dany and Arya

- Tyrion and Jamie have a confrontation about some Tysha related shit, during which Tyrion tells Jamie he did kill Joffrey. |
|
|
Why did he tell him that?
And I would've really liked to see the version with Shae begging for mercy instead. That would've been more dramatic/interesting. But I do agree that it wouldn't fit with the show character as well, who they seem to have made more likable. Which is silly because he's already way more handsome than he was in the books, why does he need to have a pristine character too? (i mean yeah he just murdered his dad but u kno what i mean) |
I'm really tempted to pick up the books again before S5. Not only to see the differences but so that I don't get the ___ ______ and other shit spoiled for me which there's a very decent likelihood that it could in the next year! It's a p daunting task tho since I don't usually read much (: Maybe I'll just skip to ASOS

Also if Lancel does show up again next season I hope he somehow shares a scene with Loras

I found a PDF of the entire first one online (: . DAUNTING INDEED! It was so long. I would much prefer reading a physical book than something online too
I did read the entire first scene of the show, with the three rangers beyond the wall. It was pretty cool, different from the show. I much prefer watching a show to reading but I feel like I'll enjoy these books more than I enjoy the show

I thought the finale was good except for the Bran scene. Its so far ahead of the books, I have no idea what they'll do next season.
Personally I want to read the books first before the show, as I found that much more enjoyable. The first few seasons had a lot of minor characters, I feel the last couple (especially the last one) just jumped from major plot to another. Part of the reason I liked the show was its boring character developing scenes.
It was a pretty good finale. A decent amount of closure but there are a lot of doors opening for next season. Really excited to see how they build Essos because apart from the one scene Stannis was over there, and the Dany story line we haven't been over there at all. Also VERY excited for Dorne. Not sure if the Iron Islands will get thrown in, I would enjoy watching that unfold as well but I could see it being too convoluted.
RIP Hound and Tywin, so sad.
DOUBLE RIP TO SHAE :(((((((. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

I wonder if they curbed the darker moments of the scene because Peter Dinklage is the closest they have to a leading star, and perhaps they don't want to alienate viewers. He wouldn't get much sympathy if he went out of his way to murder Shae!
That is just a guess though.
As for why he told Jamie he killed Joffrey. Jamie revealed some details about Tysha (I can't remember what specifically) and it pissed Tyrion off, so he said he killed Joffrey to get back at him. |
Oh, and a big reason I started reading in the first place was that I was spoiling too much for myself.
After season two finished, the year long wait to find out about this 'Red Wedding' thing was just too much (:

You know what the saddest thing is? Brienne never got a chance to give Hot Pie's direwolf to Arya :(

I wish The Hound grabbed it and broke it over her head to get the upper hand in the fight, then killed her and lived
Sorry Brienne but if it's you or The Hound, I choose The Hound

lol did Jaime actually care though? I guess it WAS his son, but it seemed like he never actually cared for him. Maybe it was different in the books
And yeah that's the impression I get too (RE: Dinklage). Arguably the three biggest characters are Dany, Tyrion, and Jon, and all three of them haven't gotten their hands that dirty compared to everyone else. But I mean, Arya, The Hound, Tywin, Jaqen, etc are all FAN FAVORITES and they've all done their FAIR SHARE of killings, so I doubt that would really sour many against Tyrion. Especially in the case of Shae because I think at least half the audience would be cheering him on (: |

That scene was seriously so hard to watch because I love both characters and I didn't want to see either die
Once The Hound grabbed the sword I thought we were about to see a repeat of his brother's move against Oberyn
