It's an interactive scene so I don't think you can skip it
Yes! It sent me back to the menu after I clicked. My impatience lead to punishment, apparently.

Here it is:
Basically just gives you some ambiguous HOAP that in some universe, Booker and Elizabeth Anna lead an actual normal and happy life
What'd you think of the ending itself?

I think I'll try playing from the last chapter (if I can) to try to do the scene myself instead of watching. If I can't I'll watch that.
As for the ending itself... I have no idea what I think right now!
It's INTERESTING. The Booker=Comstock thing though... I dunno. They don't seem like the same person at all, and he was just such a dick to her. I can do some mental gymnastics and see where some of their traits might match, but... I dunno. It's also incredibly depressing that Elizabeth wanted him dead so badly that she erased herself along with Booker. Was he seriously THAT BAD in all universes that he deserved elimination from existence? I guess it doesn't matter though if he deserved it in anyone's mind but the Elisabeths.
Not my favorite ending at all, but there's a lot to think over. But tbh I kind of just want to pretend it never happened for a while and play some DLC until it's fully digested.

Well I think that's what the whole baptism motif was about. Booker WASN'T that person until he became 'reborn' to pay for what he did at Wounded Knee and descended into religious zealotry
I dunno, I personally loved it. Especially the piano keys/disappearing Elizabeths before smashing to black. I thought that was incredibly well-done. I'm a sucker for both twist endings and dark endings and this had both in spades (:

Yeah, I get the idea behind the character change between Booker and Comstock, I just have a hard time imagining the path from Booker to Comstock. Though the Booker as we saw him was from an alternate line from the baptism from Comstock, so I suppose he changed in both directions.
I really wanna go back and replay the beginning with Slate now. That'll be really interesting to see how he reacts to everything.
I think this is one of those ending that need to be given some time and thought for me to know how I feel about it tbh. I don't outright hate it or anything though, which means I'll probably end up liking it.

I hated the ending of Booker being drowned by all the copies of Elizabeth. I despised Elizabeth in that moment. I don't understand how it fixed anything either. I feel like there's no real sense to it. They show you infinite possibilities one minute then a second later claim that drowning this one booker in this one moment will reset everything? I don't even think the guys who wrote it could actually explain it in a logical way. I think 2001: A Space Odyssey makes more sense than the last few minutes of this game

Technically, it would only erase the Bookers who bothered going to that baptism in the first place. I guess the explanation would be that the Elisabeths wiped out those timelines where Comstock comes from (and the Booker that we knew), but other timelines where Booker never tried to get the baptism in the first place still exist.
lol @ the timeline where Booker stubbed his toe and missed the baptism until the next week, then went on to go ahead and build a Columbia anyway being spared.
I really need to replay. I don't really get where the experiments, the twins, and Slate all come into play.
On that note: I really like the twins and I'm interested to see what pieces of their story I overlooked the first time.

Without giving anything away, Burial at Sea definitely gives you a slightly better understanding of the twins. Though I'm still not sure I understand them
And I really have the urge to replay this now too (:
I don't think a replay will answer most of your big questions. Though it's certainly worth playing for the atmosphere and visuals.
There's some info to be gained from the vox recordings, but a lot of stuff tends to be fan fiction in a sense as it's just stuff fans come up with that could possibly explain one thing or another. Lots of fan theories out there about the twins.

Though IIRC they're not really "twins", it's the male and female version of the same person, who encountered each other through their experiments

Everyone could just be variants of Booker and Elizabeth/Anna

I think it's all pretty amazing tbh. Bioshock was my favorite game at the time. Bioshock 2 I ended up having no interest in for reasons I can't even remember. This one reaffirmed that it's probably my favorites series
Like Boc, I'm such a sucker for dark twist endings. ESPECIALLY weird paradox/alternate universe/catch 22 shit. I can't get enough of them and this one was done really well
The Elizabeth's drowning Booker then fading one by one was so haunting. And that song. The one Elizabeth sings while Booker plays guitar is the same one that plays in the church during the opening
And all of the lyrics spell out the story. "Will the circle be unbroken." UGH! It's so good. This is such classic Bioshock shit. And those piano keys as you see the city. So beautiful
I'm still thinking everything through. There's definitely some holes in the plot that I need filled. I wanna replay pretty badly now. Not necessarily to get those answers, more so to watch the events unfold knowing what I know now. Some stuff is sure to be brilliant on replay
There are so many things I didn't really pay full attention to the first time that I really want to see again knowing the context. And I know I didn't find all of the recordings, so I'd like to find the ones I missed.
Also maybe I will play without using the machine gun for everything.

- "Bring us the girl, and wipe away the debt," that was the deal. The details elude me now, but you know what? The details wouldn't change a goddamn thing."
Ugh, so good
- The Lutece's were such an interesting part of the game. I loved every scene they were in, like the coin flip tally where it always landed on heads
My understanding of the Lutece's. Rosalind exists in the reality that we focus on, and Robert is a version of her where she's born a male and not a female. They're able to communicate through morse code and then find a way to jump to different universes. Comstock exploits this to peek into different universes and uses that to create prophecies
- Good thing Booker and Elizabeth didn't become romantic
I'm also thinking this game HEAVILY connects to the original Bioshock story! And in an amazingly cool way. I had a thought during the Rapture scene at the end and I just read a really great and convincing theory that completely supports it. It blows my mind even further
OH OK. I just hit continue game to see where it puts you after you've completed it. My game loaded me to the same point that it was resetting me earlier when I lost all my progress. NOTHING saved! That means if I had turned it off and not beaten it tonight, I would've lost all that progress again. Wut a load of shit
What is 1999 mode? It's an achievement to beat it on that and it says I unlocked it after winning. But now I don't see it anywhere, probably because my beaten game save file has vanished into thin air
