I received my first ever Funko Pop as a birthday gift a few days ago: a Roger Rabbit pop that sits nicely on my toy shelf amongst my other figures.

But looking over the last few pages...I don't think I'm going to dedicate my time and money to collecting these things any time soon.

I like them because they are cheap, cover a lot of topics and make great gifts... Almost all the ones I own are actually gifts... Though me and shiki do buy them for each other.

I just don't really see the appeal. Like do people like the uniformity of how they all look?

If I wanted to buy an action figure like that (or whatever you want to call it) I'd rather have something detailed that looks close to the actual thing. Most of the humanoid pops I wouldn't even be able to tell apart if it didn't have the names right by it

I think it's just a collection thing.

Yeah its the uniformity and the design really. That all the different franchises kind of go together... I do like action figures too though. And like Paul said it is a collection thing but its not like I'm trying to get all of them or all the variants... Some of the rarer ones can get pretty expensive but I generally don't bother with those.

I don't know how I missed these but they look pretty good.






Also there are a ton of sdcc exclusives but none really interest me.

I only have a Rocket Raccoon. I won it in a raffle. I like it, but I don't know that I'd actually collect them. I think they're kind of cool and some Pops look good, but some look weird or just too generic.
