I think Walt was implying they should put Mike in his place like Gus put Victor in his. And honestly, I don't think Walt DOES understand the business. He may think he does, but he's been consistently awful at making calls on that end.
I liked the episode, though it wasn't the most standout episode ever. I think it was a little underwhelming for me, but i also just watched a season and a half in the last 48 hours so that's to be expected.

I also think its a combination of pride as well that gets in the way of being realistic. We've seen his decisions before and its usually pride that doesn't let him think rationally.
If he was that deluded that he thought he was making the right decisions, he wouldn't have given up so easily when Mike was calling the shots in the last scene.
He was constantly fighting back the urge to assert his authority concerning rational decisions.
You can see all throughout the episode how uncomfortable Mike makes Walt feel when he is calling the shots. I don't think he disagrees with any of the decisions being made, he just hates that Mike is the one calling them and not him.
He couldn't help but brag about Gale copying Heisenberg to Hank in an earlier season. He spurred on his DEA brother in law to put more effort into catching him for the sake of pride.
And now that he has "shot Jesse James" his ego has spiralled out of control.
Already this season he has threatened Saul, and threw away any pretences of partnership with his meeting with Saul and Jesse, which he spent sat like a boss ordering them about. And now he is trying to boss Mike about, who isn't going to stand for it.
On first thought I thought he was talking about Mike, but now I actually think he could've been threatening JESSE. Jesse offering up his money subverted Walt's authority in that situation, just like Victor attempting to cook the batch subverted Gus' authority because he didn't tell him to.
I'd lean towards it being a "hey, why don't we do something about that guy. Jesse and Walt are close enough that Walt's really not going to threaten him into doing whatever he wants, at least not at this point. He's been working hard at getting Jesse on his side. Jesse's family, Walt would rather he willingly do what he wants and side with him. He wouldn't threaten him into compliance with vague threats like that when Jesse does what Walt wants for the most part without threats. Mike though, is actually actively standing up to Walt and a threat to Walt's authority. I really think he's talking about giving Mike the boxcutter treatment.

I very much doubt it was a message to Jesse. Jesse was so surprised because Walt was talking about getting rid of Mike. They just started up and have a good thing going and Walt's already talking about killing Mike after working to get him on their side. Walt thinks he can do anything after killing Gus, and Jesse's beginning to notice
hands down the best episode this season. holy shit that was so great. so many great scenes. like, every single one of them. the intro: mike hammering against the door, telling whoever is watching in the surveillance room "heeey let's go open up" had me thinking that things would be going down for real this episode and a feeling of tempo and/or pressure came up. it was a metaphor for the episode's drive and tempo if you will. talking 'bout shifting gears eh?!
it was just bang bang, development, wtf moment, bang bang, development, bang bang, lol moment, bang bang, epic moment, bang bang wtf moment, bang bang repeat. just, damn....gat-damn
greatness...greatness...most of you metioned it already....saul driving the boys around....hilarious..(so was the short huell mike face-off)..the jazz music cooking meth montage....beautiful....the walt/brock "face-off" (another one, without words, just them looking at each other) amazing.....skyler's breakdown, shockingly good....walt trying to play jesse, playing marie, trying to argue with mike....wow,wow,wow.....that guy....a ticking time bomb indeed.....family movie night? with SCARFACE? loool'd...great scene, possibly foreshadowing a lot, showing the end scene and all that.....great anyway.
and of course: "maybe, he flew too close to the sun...got his throat cut" - wtf...atombomb....*dropped*
IF he means jesse, could he refer to jesse's vacation at don eladio's...cooking a great heisenberg recipee badge on his own etc? like, the victor metaphor was actually pretty close to what he really meant to say?!...he could have meant something else though...like the money move jesse made, making walt's dick move about the money look redundant or whatever...damn son...damn!
