All the scenes with Colin Farrell were really engaging and interesting. Closest thing to McConaughey's magnetic performance this season has so far. And holy shit he can take his liquor like a CHAMP! He downed like half that bottle and barely seemed phased at the crime scene
Everything else varied from good to meh. McAdams' scenes were mostly decent, I liked the scene with her father, especially that ending line. Don't really care that much about the motorcycle cop. Vaughn's scenes were probably the weakest part for me. I don't think it's really his fault, his character is just pretty dull at this point. And he had lines like this: "You don't wanna look hungry. Never do anything out of hunger, not even eating." What was that? (:
I was hoping for another iconic line at the end like last season's "Then start asking the right fucking questions" but I did like that ending aerial shot. The rest of the city beginning to light up while the crime scene is still shrouded in darkness
It was good! The characters colliding at the end worked well enough. I think the coming weeks will be better now that the main four will start to mix and share scenes together. Those were the highlights of season one at least
Anyone else find it a tiny bit confusing? I was a little distracted at times but I didn't entirely follow what Colin Farrell was doing for Vaughn
I'm thinking I might have to watch that again too. I had no idea what was going on. A bit all over the place, but i'm glad they at least got all the characters together at the end, kind of tied it all together.
I just finished it ep 1. I heard alot of bad things from critics about it the past couple days but I thought it was pretty on point. Critics are such bitter narcissistic assholes anyways, so fuck em.
The first few episodes of last season were a little slow until the pieces of the puzzle started falling in place, I have a feeling that's probably whats going to happen here as well.
what! Did they really just kill off the most interesting character
Thought the ep was pretty good overall, about as good as last week's. Vaughn got some good scenes this week, the monologue felt a tad forced but I liked it anyway. And the Good Samaritan scene was funny
Did anyone else get major incest vibes from that motorcycle cop's visit to his mom's house? The way she kept touching him and complimenting his muscles/looks was creepy
Of course that fits with the Oedipus theme this season appears to have, so it probably was intentional. I'm just wondering if they were only vibes
