I've kinda been in limbo these last couple of weeks so I'm a bit more worried about stuff than I usually am, but thanks. My job completely failed to send me a letter last week, I think I need to call the agency tomorrow or something and make sure they are sending it to the right address.

It depends. If only one works, or if one makes significantly more than the other, then it is a benefit. Otherwise, it can be a penalty if you make similar amounts of money. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

if you're married though, don't you have to file together?
At least that's how it works in Canada. Although I know some married people sometimes still file as single.

I finally got to be part of a jury today.
It was a DUI case where a guy got pulled over two years ago in his 2015 snow white corvette going 75 in a 45 and was also smashed (.162 bac). After we all got to watch the two hour feature presentation of the video of his arrest, I really dunno what he was thinking by trying to fight it.
Before it started, when the defense and prosecution can ask questions of the jurors and then dismiss any they want for no reason, I was asked "what is a buzz?" And I believe I said "heh well you know heh heh feelin' good and warm."
All that was missing was the double guns hand motion.

my wife made significantly more than me this year.
I student taught and didn't get paid from Jan-June. Then started getting paid Sept-Dec.
It's a significant increase, like +$4,000 if we go joint
