Lake Mungo
A good slow-burn type movie. It sort of blends mockumentary and found footage styles, and ends up being pretty creepy in some parts. | Nintendo Network ID: EctoCooler47 |

I thought it was great. And it had one of the best JUMP SCARES that I can remember. Towards the end when..

Splinter
A pretty cool infection horror movie about a weird parasitic creature that kills you and takes over your body. A married couple gets taken hostage by a criminal couple, and they end up crossing paths with the splinter parasite. They get holed up in a gas station and try and figure out what the hell is going on. One of the dudes is a biologist and tries to analyze everything from a cellular level in order to kill the parasite. It's a pretty cool low-budget horror movie, I recommend it. | Nintendo Network ID: EctoCooler47 |

Guardians of the Galaxy
I think everything has already been said about this movie. I thought it was great and it's easily my favorite superhero movie. I was really surprised by Batista.

Nightcrawler
Really enjoyed it but at the same time it felt like the movie had just gotten started as it came to an end. Like it was Part 1, not the whole story. Maybe I wouldn't feel that way if I had went into it without seeing any trailers. | A survivor becomes a leader...

i saw fargo for the first time yesterday and really liked it. but for some reason i had it in my head that cannibalism was a theme in it, so that was kinda weird. i guess i heard that about a different movie and got confused.

There's a movie called Fido about a zombie pet or something. Like families have pet Zombies like we have dogs now. That might be what you confused it with. | A survivor becomes a leader...

The Babadook
Non-spoiler review: Creepy in ways I didn't expect. It starts playing out like a drama between a single mother grieving her husband's death and her son who has behavior problems in in school. The Babadook himself is a great boogeyman type monster and has a very creepy presence whenever he's around. Great performance by the lead actress. This is probably the best original high-budget horror movie I've seen in a while.

I really enjoyed how it builds and at some point it just hits you how screwed up the mother is and how her son is trying to survive. However, I don't think The Babadook is "just in her head" or whatever. I definitely think it's a real presence that breaks her down to do horrible things, like how I think the ghosts in The Shining are real. This movie reminded me a lot of The Shining in terms of plot, and also Home Alone with all of Sam's contraptions and traps that he would set up. |

hahaha I literally said the same exact thing to my dad. Once she heads down the stairs and he pulls the rope and she trips, I said "this is turning into Home Alone meets The Shining"
Thought it was pretty great. Unfortunately I wasn't nearly as scared as I expected to be/hoped I would be. Most likely because I was watching with my dad and brother. I really wish I watched it alone. Movies are 10x more scary when I'm alone in my basement. I'm bummed I didn't do that
Still though, really good. I'm choosing to believe it was real too. Overall I'd say it was a mix of a real presence with some moments being in her head. That's part of what made the movie great, trying to decipher what was real and what wasn't
I loved the look of the Babadook, the house, and the artwork in the book. I want that book (:
I haven't seen a horror movie in awhile that blended a pretty real and emotional story so well with the horror aspect of it. It was pretty perfectly done |

Yeah, the trailers did build up the scariness of it more than the symbolism aspect of it which was more important to the movie. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing at all and I liked the symbolism the movie had going for it, but being scarier wouldn't have hurt it.
The book was awesome, its artstyle reminded me of old German horror movies. Have you seen The Cabinet of Dr Caligari? Sort of like that. | Nintendo Network ID: EctoCooler47 |

Muppets Most Wanted.
It was pretty good. I laughed out loud a few times. Not as good as the last one, but totally what you'd expect from a Muppets movie. If you're a fan, you'll enjoy it. :P
