Oh. I forgot to add that I've come home to a whiny man who has been walking around for the last week with my African walking stick that I got when I was in Rwanda 2 years ago. He looks like f'n Rafiki walking like he's 90 years old. 🙄

I got called for jury duty twice:

1) First time was for California while I was at school in DC, so I got negated immediately.
2) Last year, got selected here in Arlington. They have a computerized system that tells you if you need to show up or not; I didn't need to.

Would love to actually get to the selection part for once.

I've been called twice.

1. I got called in my hometown in Minnesota while at school in Wyoming. Once I confirmed with the clerk lady that, yes, Wyoming is both a state and has a university, I was removed from the list.
2. I got called in Arizona. Got to go in at 8 am (apparently grad school isn't a disqualifier from selection), sit in the holding area all day, waiting for my group to be called. 3:30 rolls around, the clerk comes in and says there is only one case left, and we should know something soon. 4:30 rolls around, and the update is "no update", and finally at 5:15, they tell us the judge went home, so we are free to go. We were the only group that didn't get called for anything that day.

If I got called in I would do everything in my power to get disqualified. Fuck that shit.

Usually, I'd say that's not being civic-minded, but in your case I think the justice system would benefit from this so good job!

It's everyone's right to not do something that they don't want to do. There are plenty of people that don't care and will do it. I encourage everyone to do everything in their power to get dismissed.
