Say you know about jury nullification. You gotta sneak it in there, it makes it seem like you took a law class. I believe in voir dire the prosecution can ask for a peremptory challenge, this would mean they want to Veto you from the jury. | Winner of 11 Courses of Thanksgiving

Many companies will pay you your regular salary for jury duty, though. Mine does.

Pretty sure is a law that your company has to pay you your full salary if you're chosen for jury duty. |

It's not a law in every state, and I don't even know how many states have the law but some do. Other than that, it's up to company policy. But, the last time I had jury duty, they gave me some form to fill out if I wanted to get paid for it (probably the $11 per day or some similar amount) and it was so complicated to fill out, I didn't even bother. Plus, I was only there for a few hours and didn't get on the jury. I would've been a nightmare for the prosecution, though. I need HARD DNA FACTS or that guy would've walked. Anyway, I can't remember if you still get paid if your company pays you or not.

Me either but my wife has a couple of times and it's a pain in the ass, call this number for every Monday for the next two months. And I think she's only actually had to go to jury selection once which was dumb, because it happened to be for someone with the same last name as me that we somewhat know, so they let her go right away anyhow.

It's mostly just sitting around waiting for your number to be called but the last time I got pretty close to being on the jury. I think I was the next one to be questioned before they decided on the final jury.

I had to go once, but they asked insanely eaasy questions that you could use to disqualify yourself.
Do you believe in the justice system?
Could you ever send another person to jail?
etc...

Yeah, I agree, it's pretty easy to get kicked off if you don't want to do it. Mine was an assault case, I think it was a bar fight. They asked people if they'd ever been victims of assault, abuse, etc. A lot of people said yes and they were immediately dismissed. I can't remember the other questions but it was pretty obvious the answers each side wanted to hear in order to accept you as a juror.

Hi. I'm back in NC.
I've had Jury duty once. I got school off all day that day, so it was worth it. I was only around for about an hour. I somehow had the butterflies as if I was the one on trial though. Maybe courtrooms just aren't my thing.
