Agreed. If you have read the Depressing News Thread, vlady, DS, and I all have people close to us affected by these fires and it's devastating to see.

It's so tragic, I have been following since the beginning just not really posting about it here. However I just found out that my sister's best friends dentists parents lost their house and it's just so sad when that kind of stuff happens to people you practically know.
I was literally almost in tears last night.Just tragic.
Yeah a girl I grew up with who lives up in Santa Rosa lost her apartment. My friend's aunt is expecting to lose her entire house. One of my best friends who lives up in Rohnert Park has been in and out of evacuation and glued to the news for the past week. Hasn't been able to relax at all. Her fiancé's parents' house is in Northern Santa Rosa so they've been evacuated and staying with her since the fires started.
OMG I feel so sad for all of them. My aunt and uncle's house burnt down a couple years back when my aunt was battling breast cancer and it was a huge tragedy for the whole family so I basically know what it's like to have to rebuild your life from scratch after such a terrible event.
I just hope no one else dies and everyone makes it out safe. This is just so awful

yeah- my brother in law is the fire chief for Santa Rosa and has been going off of little to no sleep for days (my sister is a paramedic). My FB feed is full of friends walking around with face masks on because the air quality is shit. A number of firefighters and such that my sister knows lost their homes.
It's been surreal pointing out areas on the map that I've hung out in that just don't exist anymore. The Nuns fire was also sweeping towards my old neighborhood through Crane canyon before the winds shifted and had it wipe out large portions of Annadel State Park and Bennett Valley instead.
I still have a couple friends that haven't checked in on FB yet. I'm hoping it is because they are just having power issues.

While the media is only somewhat covering the fires in California, they completely ignored the wildfires that ravaged Montana this summer. Over 1.3 million acres (area larger than the state of Delaware) burned.
Nice, just saw an attack ad on one of our democratic senators while watching Mr. Robot about him not support "tax reform". Even tried to frame it as tax reform that goes after the big companies and helps the average citizen, strategic airing during this program too. Republican propaganda machine is strong. They are targeting his base to put pressure on him to vote their way, making it seem like it's a "fuck da big guyz" type plan. It was strategic airing it during Mr. Robot as the people are obviously going to be more liberal and have a more anti-big business outlook.
OH I get what you’re saying. I misread your initial post but it makes sense. The ad was formulated specifically for base voters to be like “haha he’s not the man you think he is.” I thought you were saying they ran an ad calling him out for being pro taxes and the common man and I was like “uhhh...yes that is not going to change their minds.”
Mark Cuban just had a very interesting interview on Fox News, it's like an hour long. He said he's a 4 out of 10 to run right now, but this interview is super strategic and the way he is talking about issues and solutions etc. It's all very calculated. If I was a betting man and had the right odds I'd bet that he's making a run. I'd vote for him too. The Dems would have to present a hell of a candidate to get me to vote for them.
