update: not much happened.
the supposed date was the 28th.
months ago I jokingly said she will do it tom cruise-style, born on the 4th of july...could henrydamus have struck again?!

UPDATE: and there she is! since 9 am berlin time - born right at home! I will give details later, just sayin: DELIAH LUANA is doing fine, currently sippin on that white stuff! all happy, all good.

Oh men, I'm exhausted. Can only imagine what sandra (my gf) must feel like, she's done most of the work after all and she did so well! VERY proud of her.
BUT I played my part too and I guess she's at least a little proud of me aswell :)
Originally I had been casted as back-up guy and waterboy, also to be the go-to guy for #1 (3.5 years old). no complaints, very content with it. what happened though was totally NOT planned: since the midwife couldn't make it as she had to visit another woman who gave birth at that time, and the back-up she called for us didn't make it in time neither - and thus I had to step in, step up and play the lead supporting role besides the main actress. as in help sandra deliver the baby!
wait, what? SERIOUSLISH? yeah, seriouslish! fortunately it all went really fast and pretty smooth. sandra pushed and I made sure the head moved along. 3 or 4 waves in the head was out and just a wave after that the body followed: I wrapped her in a towel and put her on sandra's stomache. then I called #1 to welcome #2, and she looked very happy to finally see her little sister. well, 5 minutes later the back-up midwife arrived and took care of the "rest".
soooo, help gf give birth at home, on your own - CHECK!
