(The first segment of Phase 1 ends in an hour. Anybody wanting to change their votes can do so until then. Remember to cast a vote bootlist in your journal. If you don't have one by phase end, you'll be voting for yourself).

Meh. Natalie meets all of my criteria for deserving the gun.

This is honestly one of the most frusterating posts I've ever read. Sorry for singling you out there were a couple like this. Didn't you post something like this is a tough decision I don't want anyone to have the gun? Something like that. How does Natalie meet the criteria for the gun?

I mean what happened, happened and I can't change it. Everyone is on an even playing field there cept Mal because he's a corpse.

"So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

Helios whats wrong with stepping forward and asking to take the bus driver seat? You really think scum would draw that kind of attention to themselves? They usually just want to hide! What if the bus driver is destined to die? Think the scum want to take that risk? I honestly dont see your logic

The "what ifs" are precisely my point. We know nothing about this role, yet TEN MINUTES into the day, you want it? Something about that just is unsettling to me. That, combined with the lack of discussing why you wanted the role, and the complete ease in which people just nodded and handed you it, raises red flags for me. Just like you said, what if the bus driver is destined to die? Why would you willingly campaign for and accept a role that could lead to your death?

Yes, scum normally likes to hide, but sometimes, the best scum hiding is right in plain sight.

What I actually posted was that I wanted the gun (because the simple fact of the matter is that I trust myself more than I trust any of you), and obviously that was not a popular sentiment.

My criteria were that I wanted someone active to have the gun, because they would be able to use it in an emergency. I also wanted someone who would be unlikely to be susceptible to faulty influence (either their own stupidity or the guile of evildoeers). My interactions with Natalie over the past few months have given me the indication that she fits those criteria.

Also, I very strongly agree with Helios. Being obvious about your intentions does not exclude you from being suspicious. We've all see enough games where mafia hid in plain sight *coughVespisinATTWSIIcough* to know that.

So we need to submit lists, and idk if anyone has any suggestions for this, but it's going to be important to get something organized early. From what I understand the final phase is all going to hinge on the lists and scum has the advantage since I assume they can make their lists match each phase. (not sure the best way to counter that since they can influence this list as well) I'm hoping someone has some thoughts on the best way to do this? If I have this wrong, please correct me.
A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something. But by enduring that pain and overcoming it, he shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart. A fullmetal heart.

My honest thought on this is that for this first phase, it's going to be a free-for-all. The scum will have one up on us, because they will be able to control their lists. But I think that we will be able to start coordinating amongst ourselves starting next phase, you know, once some information has come in.

Roth surveyed the squabbling passengers with a frown. Agreeing was always going to be the hard part. Henry sat at the back and scorned at everybody who volunteered.

"Foooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooools!" He shouted, before glancing over at Kristoff and hissing. Kristoff just stared blankly into space.

The discussion had been long and tiresome. Drr stepped forward firmly.

"We give the gun to Natalie. She's the least likely to screw everything up."

Rob shrugged his shoulders.

"Meh." He said. He was feeling pretty placid. He didn't care much.

"Thankfully I'm the world's best driver :P " Ari announced. There was some murmuring. Most of it was about something Roth couldn't understand. Though he could've sworn he heard the word "minotaur" in there. It made him shudder a little.

Roth handed the gun to Natalie who took it with a nervous nod. There was something vaguely familiar about that look. Whatever it was didn't matter much. He sighed.

"Good luck out there. It's a dangerous job..."

Boc rolled his eyes. "Why don't you do it then, Mr. Demon slayer?"

Roth glanced at Malion's body and back outside as he paused for thought.

"My track record isn't admittedly good with demons lately..."

Kristoff buried his head in his lap. His stomach was churning. He joined a group of people who sidled out the front of the bus to help Natalie climb up to the roof.

As they assisted her to the back, Kristoff tapped her on the shoulder. She looked rather awkwardly at the unshaven and drunk man.

"If I start acting strangely, you pull the trigger and you shoot me. I mean it. Take a shot. Just right in the head."

Roth slid across and grabbed him by the arm, dragging him back in.

"DON'T FORGET!" He yelled. Roth planted his palm on his face firmly. Not that the noise mattered.

"We shouldn't be making so much noise!" He reprimanded.

Helios looked at Natalie in bewilderment. "The hell does he mean, shoot him?"

She shuddered. It was going to be an unpleasant ride. Ari winked at the side of the bus.

"I'll make sure it's not too bumpy!" He said with a grin. Natalie looked down despondently and clambered up onto the outstretched arms of the people below, before struggling up to the roof. She held the gun miserably and looked down as they all went back inside. It was raining again. This was miserable.

But if that's the worst that was going to happen, maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all.

Ari and the others climbed back into the bus. They looked up uneasily. Maybe somebody else should have gone up there to help out. Henry shrugged in the background.

Roth glanced over at the wheel.

"We can't wait a second longer..." he murmured. It had already been too long.

Ari saluted and grinned as he jumped into the seat enthusiastically. He turned the ignition and pulled a lever. The bus lurched backwards unsteadily. There was screaming as people were thrown about all over the place. Somebody threw up at the back.

"The hell was that?" Helios demanded.

Ari frowned. "I thought that was the one which made it go forwards."

There was a collective groan. He didn't know how to drive a damn bus. He shrugged and fiddled with controls until it jerked unsteadily back up the bank. It moved out onto the road and nearly toppled a car that slammed the breaks. The driver slammed the door and stepped out with a snarl before looking up past the bus, screaming, and running away.

Collective eyes were drawn to the road ahead. They were about to drive into the black cloud.

"Is this smart??" Dutchiee queried nervously. Roth just stared.

"We have no choice." He said bluntly. "Besides, the cloud will be covering everything before too long. It's going to create an eternal night."

That didn't sound particularly pleasant. As it bounced forwards there was a scream from up above. Poor Natalie.

Dylan snorted. "We don't know if she isn't one of them anyway so don't be all easy on her."

Collective morale was pretty low. They needed to plan carefully if they were going to make it through this.

Dark shapes began to congregate on the horizon. This really was the end of all things.

On the backseat, Kristoff lay sleeping. The apocalypse was easier to deal with without a clear head.

Objectives:
- Make your votes in your journal. Everybody MUST make a bootlist containing 18 other players or they will be forced to vote for themselves.

- Natalie is unable to participate in discussion for the remainder of this phase.

(This is part of the phase henry. It hasn't been extended. I extended the first, original 24 hour portion because people weren't showing up. This is a part of the game).

As the darkness surrounded the bus, there was a screeching noise from the shadows. Wikey looked up nervously as a black shape covered in tendrils smacked into the window. He jerked back with a scream as the glass was punctuated with holes. A series of groans filled the bus as various people tended to injuries. They needed to stay low. The beast detached itself and flew back into the shadows with a sinister shriek.
