The group landed at LAX, and a shuttle brought them to the Hyperion Hotel.

"What are we doing here?" Jamie asked.

"Sorry," the driver answered. "This is where I was instructed to take you."

"By whom?" asked Badger.

The driver didn't answer.

Everyone got out and headed inside the hotel.

"Nice place," Redster commented. "I guess it wouldn't be terrible staying the night here."

"Yeah," Timmah agreed. "Then we can all leave for home in the morning."

"Well, for me it won't be soon enough," Jamie said.

He retreated upstairs to the first vacant room.

The others remained downstairs for a few moments.

BANG!

"That sounded like a gunshot!" Buffy cried.

They all rushed upstairs to find Jamie slumped in chair, a bullet in his brain, and a smoking gun in his hand.

Jamie has died.

"What the hell?" Badger asked. "Why would Jamie do that?"

"He knew that they wanted him dead," a voice whispered. "Like they want you dead."

He looked around.

"Who said that?" Badger asked.

"What? Dude, nobody said anything," Mal said.

Then everyone started to hear the whispers, but it sounded like it was talking directly to them.


They're going to kill you too.


They're going to find out what you did.


They know what you are.


It's kill or be killed.


They would soon all retreat to their own rooms, where they barricaded themselves in.
