Something I've always noticed on this show and it's been bothering me so much..
The beer.......and the way they drink beer................is GROSS! Have you guys noticed that? Every time McNulty guzzles a beer he swirls it around in his mouth for awhile and it's always gross. It always seems warm and unappetizing. SURELY ONE OF YOU FEELS THE SAME WAY?!?

Marlo: You ever find that camera?
Herc: I got fired over it
Marlo: *chuckles* | |

Episode 5:
lol Scott. This guy. THIS FUCKING GUY! I loved the meeting between him and McNulty, with each of them faking their own call from the serial killer. I assume McNulty knows Scott is full of shit but Scott has no idea that Jimmy is, it's a pretty funny scenario. Scott is perhaps a bigger weasel than McNulty. He made up that other story earlier in the episode too, claiming that conspiracy theory nut was the homeless father who broke down crying. I wanna see Scott burn by the end of the season
I dunno if I like the serial killer storyline or not yet. It's all very silly and it's almost frustrating to watch how much time it takes up and wastes on all levels. At the very least, this episode showed how much of a joke the entire police/news/political system is, possibly more than any other episode
I love in these recent episodes whenever it cuts to Clay Davis in the middle of stammering through an argument. He had one of his best sheeeeeeeeeit's yet. And I loved him and Royce with their hands raised, smiling to the crowd but talking shit under their breath
The shootout with Omar was intense. Would've been way more intense if I didn't know Omar would survive it but oh well. I liked Donnie for whatever reason, maybe it was him singing in the car, so I was sad to see him not make it. It's also sad that all of Omar's few buddies keep getting slaughtered. I had NO idea how Omar was gonna get out of that...and I still don't know how he did. I hope we learn how he survived that. It was weird seeing Omar so vulnerable
Chris got a little big deeper again with his visit to his family. I like Chris a lot. Herc getting revenge on Marlo by stealing his cell number was good. Cutty back was cool. Dukie I can still care less about tbh. Can't remember much else that happened right now

Episode 6
Best scene in the episode was Nick's appearance. Tbh it feels like a key scene on the entire show. Carcetti asks who that is, and that dude (the one who worked with Stringer) just says he's a nobody. That was really great. One of the main characters of season two and he's written off as a nobody by a minor character and his existence is completely dismissed. It really sums up the show
And RANDY! MAH BOY! Same thing happened in the Randy scene too. Bunk didn't know him and just assumed he was another punk kid. Seeing Randy was incredibly sad. In a show full of sad storylines, Randy's is the most depressing to me. Rivaled only by D's or Bubbles'
The rest of the episode was good. McNulty kidnapping the homeless man and relocating him was one of the most fucked up things he/the show has ever done. It was slightly horrifying
Only other notable scene I can recall atm was Marlo taking over the co-op. He effortlessly has full control now

The quotes in the teaser video got me excite. I may rewatch the first and second season as this airs

yeah it's pretty amazing how quickly everything falls into Marlo's hands as soon as Joe falls.
I never really considered the show to be IMPECCABLY REALISTIC so my problem with the serial killer story has nothing to do with that. Hamsterdam was pretty unlikely too, but that was a much more compelling story. I see what it's going for (people need some kind of sensationalism before they'll honestly, thoughtfully consider the world in which they live, and McNulty, along with some corrupt journalists, are willing to exploit that) but it feels so REMOVED from what came before.

That was actually the first scene I've ever seen of the show. I remember watching it in 2008 sometime after it aired. Now I finally got to see it in context
I thought it was in the finale too. When I saw him walk into the store and quickly realized this was the scene, I was very very upset
