Chapter 6: The Lonely

"Grandpa, they got one of the bad guys!"
"Yes, that they did, that they did."
"What happens next?!"

Grandpa began reading...


The residents of Florin were finally feeling like they were making some headway in combating the evil which threatened their country.

One of these residents had recently lost someone very close to him. He was having trouble sleeping and decided to have a cup of tea to help relax him.

He entered the kitchen but it was empty. He didn't usually make his own tea but... oh well. He thought he could handle it. The large kitchen was dim, but there was still a fire in the hearth which illuminated the room enough for him to be able to find his way to the tea kettle. He took the kettle over to the fire. Not sure if it was hot enough, he reached for the poker so he could stoke the fire. It wasn't where he thought it should be, though.

"Now, where is that poker?" he wondered aloud.

The answer came in the form of a very hard THUD as he was hit in the head by the poker from behind. He felt two hard blows but lost count before he lost consciousness and fell to the floor.

TOWN Character: The King Role: Watcher Player: Herm You are a King and, although you are getting up there in years and may seem very frail and senile, you have surprisingly keen powers of observation. Every night you may watch another player. You will be told the names of everyone who visited your target during the night. You may not target the same player on back to back nights. Win condition: You win when there are no remaining threats to town.

"Oh no, Grandpa, the poor King! First, he lost his wife, The Queen, and now this!"

"Yes, it's very sad. But, there's more..."





In the meantime, in a different area of Florin, another citizen was on his way home. As he walked in the dark, he was feeling pretty down about recent events. He tried not to get too distracted and made a conscious effort to stay away from the main roads and take a short cut. After all, the forest was full of thieves.

As he was almost home, a shadowy figure stepped out from behind some brush, startling him.

"What is this? Do you want my money?"

"Not particularly. I doubt you have much money, anyway." answered the figure.

"Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much! It just so happens that I have a little bit right here in my--"

But, as he started to reach into his bag, something stopped him and made him look up into cold, dead eyes.

It was the sound of laughter. So horrible and ear-piercing, it made his blood run cold. At the same time, he saw a quick flash of steel, and then felt something stinging his throat. His hands flew up to his neck and he felt the warm blood gushing out of a serious wound. He slumped to the forest floor.

The assailant grabbed the man's bag and disappeared back into the shadows.

TOWN Character: Miracle Max Role: Resurrector Player: im317 "They’re so perky, I love that." You are Miracle Max and, although you are retired, you are still able to perform miracles! You also enjoy a good Mutton, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich - especially when the mutton is nice and lean, and the tomatoes are ripe and perky... Yum! Once during the game you can revive a dead player who is only mostly dead but slightly alive. PM one of the hosts (Buffy or Wikey) when you choose to do this. You must make your choice before the end of the phase following their death and the player will be revived during the next phase. Example: If you choose to revive someone who is lynched or killed during the day, you will PM your decision during the following night phase. The player will be revived at the start of the next phase (day phase). If you choose to revive someone who is killed at night, you will PM your decision during the following day phase. The player will be revived at the beginning of the following phase (night phase). If a player is successfully resurrected, their role will pick up from where they left off upon death - any actions they had left will still be available to be used. If their actions were exhausted at the time of their death, this will continue to be the case upon their resurrection. Win condition: You win when there are no remaining threats to town.

"They both lost their wives and now they're gone, too?" asked the grandson.

"That's right."

"That's so not fair."

"Life isn't fair."

"This doesn't look good for Florin at all," the grandson said sadly.

"Indeed. It looks very dire for Florin."

Back to 2 deaths. And a rough 2 deaths at that.

I went back to check who Joshie blocked on N2 but it was Penner. I don't think thats the reason of a missing kill on N2.

So far my reads from yesterday haven’t been so great, at least as to josh and im317. I think I’m moving mittens back towards my town pool for now bc of that.

What’s with that message? Those kind of reporter roles are usually town, but that’s a strange one.

josh, I trust you didn’t fake that claim. I’m still looking to avenge that random fake D1 info claim you made against me a couple games back!

So I read what I missed from the end of last day earlier, but now I’m a bit drunk and can’t remember all the thoughts i had about it.
