"Chapter 4: Rabbit Stew"

After the public hanging, most people were pretty upset. Jamie had been telling the truth this whole time!

One person wasn't the least bit upset, though, and even walked home with a little skip in their step. A whistle began to escape their lips after a bit. This person didn't have a care in the world. In fact, they had something to look forward to... There would be a delicious rabbit stew for dinner tonight! Just thinking about it made them salivate.


"EWWWW rabbit stew, Grandpa?"

"Yes, yes. Back in those days people had to make due with whatever they could find to eat. They didn't have McDonald's back then. Can we continue?"

"Okay, keep going."

"As I was saying..."


The woman arrived home to a cozy little hut and put a large pot filled with water on the fire. Then she went out back to the rabbit cage, rubbing her hands together in anticipation as she went. She stopped short as she saw the rabbit cage. The door to the cage was wide open and the rabbit was gone!

"What? Who would steal a person's dinner? Barbarians, of course, that's who!" the woman cried out dejectedly. After choking back a tear, she thought for a few seconds, then grabbed a large net and went to search the woods.

It wasn't long before she spotted it. The plump rabbit was in the middle of a small clearing, directly under some tree branches, eating... what in the world was it eating? As she crept closer she could just begin to make it out... carrots!

'Carrots? Just laying on the ground like that?' she thought. 'Oh well, no matter. I'm just lucky I found him so quickly. And, now I have carrots to throw into the stew to boot! I guess this is my lucky day, after all!' she told herself.

She slowly crept toward the rabbit and quietly raised the net, ready to reclaim her dinner! Just as she was about to swoop down with the net, she was suddenly yanked up into the air! Her body bounced around crazily until gradually settling into a swing, then finally into a slow sway. Once she gained her perspective, she realized her foot had been caught in a snare and she was hanging upside down by one leg. Cursing to herself, she tried to get free but it was no use. She started yelling for help. Surely someone would hear her!

After a few minutes, she heard footsteps behind her. She sighed with relief.

"Oh hello! Can you help me? I got caught in some... animal trap. I'm stuck!"

No answer.

"HELLO?!? Hey, are you there? I just need a little help to -"

It was then that the person slowly moved into view, in front of the unlucky woman. Her gaze started at the footwear, then traveled upward and rested on a face. The woman's eyes suddenly grew large with recognition.

"Oh, hello. Can you please help me down?"

"Of course I can. Let me just... figure out how to... let's see. I need something to cut you down."

"I have a knife back at the hut," the woman offered.

"Oh wait, look. I have a knife right here." Withdrawing a shiny dagger from their pocket, the person held it in front of the dangling woman's face.

"Okay, great. Go ahead and just cut the rope. Give me some warning, though. I don't want to fall on my head!"

"Will do."

She sighed in anticipation. She couldn't wait to get out of this trap. When she heard the signal, she braced herself and covered her head.

"Ready, set, GO!"

The knife plunged into the woman's chest, then into her stomach, then somewhere else on her torso, then into her hand as she tried to defend herself. She couldn't get away, though, and she was stabbed over and over. She screeched out loudly even as the blood drained from her weakening body:

"You said you would help...

LIAR! LIAAAAAARRRRRRR!"

Those were the last words she uttered before she finally died.

The killer dropped the bloody knife, then turned and walked away.

After a few seconds, the rabbit hopped after them.

Christian dead? Hm.

I assumed Christian would be watched or protected last night so a bit surprised to see this flip.

well that really sucks. i mean what were the odds that the 1 person Christian would pick was a miller? with only 1 kill both nights im wondering if this is not a game with less town power roles and less killers to even it out. i mean i would have expected Christian to have been protected, or at least for scum to have avoided him given the high chance of it.

My guess is the doc, if there is one, was in a classic prisoner’s dilemma and chose incorrectly

I normally, just skim the write up, but read that one. Pretty graphic.
