As a reminder, we have chosen to pick out songs that stuck out to us, or ones that you would listen to again/put on a playlist. There is no hard rule to what songs you have to include here, but they should just be the highlights of the album for you. Try to pick at least two, if you can, but you can throw on as many as you want here. (My normal habit with this is to put a small star next to a song right after I listen to it to remind myself that it stuck out to me.).

On top of this, we are giving the album an official rating from 1-10. Your rating can be off any system or scale that you choose, but here is a general scale just in case you are needing a little help pinpointing where it should be:

Quote
10. A classic. One of your favorite albums of all time.
9. A great album. One of the best albums of the year.
8. A good album. You would suggest it to a friend.
7. An above average album. The songs hold up pretty well but the album won't change your life.
6. A promising album. There is potential for them to create great music, they just might not have perfected their sound.
5. An okay album. Your life is pretty unbothered after listening to it. You'd listen if it was on but nothing more.
4. An uninspired album. It has a few good songs but the rest were bad.
3. A disappointing album. You expected better from the album and artist and neither delivered on it.
2. A bad album. You would never go out of your way to listen to this artist or album again.
1. A horrible album. You can't understand how this album crawled its way out of a studio.

Genre Indie rock

great...indie rock has become a synonym for maudlin bullshit over the past ten years! But I'll give this a fair chance

Excited for this one. I doubt it will beat The Midnight Organ Fight for me but loving this band.

Tracks 2, 3, 4, and 9 are some of my favorite Frightened Rabbit songs.

State Hospital is so good, unbelievable.
So far I’m enjoying this. The oil slick is pure torture though.

Ok now that Scott is dead, “Nitrous Gas” is almost unlistenable...wow.

Like I know he’s talking about laughing gas and not carbon monoxide but it’s still kind of grim looking back now.

So I was reading about how the singer committed suicide last year. That's sad. I read the last tweets he put out before he disappeared, damn.

Just listened to the album too. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting it to be. This isn't my kind of music but it definitely has something. These were the tracks that stood out to me:

Acts of Man
The Woodpile
Nitrous Gas
The Oil Slick

You should listen to some of their other stuff Wikey:

Death Dream (really brutal now)
I Wish I Was Sober
Keep Yourself Warm

Also hey I did that Spotify decade thing and Frightened Rabbit shot right up my list despite only discovering them p late in the decade

Honestly all of their songs I’ve listened to are brutal after his death

(Haven’t listened to this album yet)

Yes Keep Yourself Warm is one of my favorites!
Also Backwards Walk and Modern Leper.

Modern Leper is also kind of brutal now, but also the relation to modern society is spot on. That song really grabbed me out of nowhere and made me realize I need to slow the fuck down sometimes.

Have you guys listened to the Tiny Changes tribute album a bunch of artists collaborated on? It’s pretty good. I love Julien Baker’s cover of “Modern Leper” and Daughter’s cover of “Poke.”

actually it's just the first song that was awful. Pretty enjoyable offering after that. Just finished Late March, Death March and that has been my favorite song so far. Would definitely listen to this again. And it's helping me focus while working so there's that too.
