Hello friends!!

Wikey & I are super stoked to kick off FE Listens for July and to get started, we just need to.. PICK AN ALBUM! So, much like FE Watches/Binges, we just ask everyone post an album that they've been interested in listening to but never got around to. There aren't any real qualifications to your pick so just go where your heart desires.

As well as a pick, we can also kind of discuss how we'd like to rank the albums. A few options would be:

A. Rank each song from best to worst
B. Give each song a rating out of 1-10
C. Pick the songs that really stood out to you/you would listen to again
D. Just rank the album as a whole

I feel like ranking the album as a whole should happen no matter which option we choose, but I'd be okay JUST doing that if people don't want to go too in depth. SO POST YOUR THOUGHTS!

For album rankings, I've always used Spill Magazine's ranking system because it works pretty well:

I deffo think we should rank the albums as a whole regardless, but aside from that I'd also go with C, pick some select few songs that stood out.

One of my fave Icelandic bands, saw their first show at the Icelandic Battle of the bands, which they won.

I’ve never done FE watches or anything.

I like D but also it’d be good to do A or B or C as well.

It doesn't have to be newly released. My pick is from 1969. I think the general rule to follow is to suggest something you think most of us won't have heard before.

If there's an album you think is worth suggesting that you've already listened to, I don't see that being a problem.

Maybe Josh can offer some thoughts on this though, I've never participated in FE Watches either.

I’ll nominate The War On Drugs - A Deeper Understanding

It’s a little out of my comfort zone because of the more classical rock sound rather than the indie / folk that I’m usually into. Their song Pain is so strong, but I never checked their full album, so may as well go for it!
