Efffff what a classic comic book scene. I love how they troll’d the comic books readers but making it seem like the two big names from the comics were going (Rosita and Ezekiel) but going a different way.
Really shocked at all three of the big ones, especially Henry. I hated him filling in for Carl because the whole “we are both monsters” thing with Lydia is definitely going to be less believable, but now there is a lot missing in that storyline.
I’ve never been crazy about Enid, but I think they took her out at the right time, it was pretty sad. Hilltop is now in shambles too, wonder who will fill in now.
Went the GOT route, the big shocker in the penultimate episode, interested to see what next week will bring. |

I was so nervous throughout that whole episode!
|
When it didn't show what had happened when Beta and the Whisperers caught up with Daryl and company, I thought for sure they would be among the heads on the pikes. But the more I thought about it, it wouldn't have been a surprise since they've been showing that moment in teasers, etc.
The whole episode was really well done. They introduced (or maybe reintroduced) a few of the characters that would eventually end up dead by the end of the episode, so that we would feel a bit of the significance. Knowing how this event went down in the comics, I was expecting to see at least Ezekiel. It never crossed my mind that Enid, Tara, Henry or poor Brett Butler would be the ones. In a way, I'm glad it wasn't someone really major. If Carol had died, I'd probably stop watching. I wouldn't be able to handle it. :P But so many heads... |

I did wonder who was keeping an eye on Negan back at Alexandria. lol
Man, I can't believe they killed Tara. There were so many clues now, looking back. But they flipped so many of the people you'd thought would die. |

lol I feel bad for the youngest of the Lintz kids, who played young Henry. Both his siblings (Henry, Sophia) got to have really cool exits from the show. |

The last 3 episodes I’ve watched live. It’s so great!

Yea I think all the choices were good. Frankie was the only one I had to look up after the episode.
I do think someone from Magna’s group would have been interesting. It was Luke in the comic’s happy he survived but thought maybe Yumiko would get it until she went with the good group.
It was so nice to finally have a comic scene done perfectly. Especially after the botch that was Negan’s entrance.
Really excited for next episode even though (surely) nothing crazy is going to happen. Definitely set it up for next season though. |

I would disagree that it was a bunch of nobodies. The Hilltop's leader Tara, the Hilltop's Doctor Enid, and Carol and Ezekiel's adopted son who had a pretty big role this season.
But yes, they might have played it safe by not killing off any of the main characters but after losing Rock, the show could suffer if they took out another like Daryl, Carol, Michonne. They could have gotten away with offing Ezekiel though. Carol's the queen now, so she could have run the Kingdom and it would have still torn apart their family. And Rosita is involved in the baby quadrangle. lol |

The season 9 finale was pretty good.
|
It was the best way they could end it, imo. Not too cliff-hanger-y lol. I expected that's how it would end though, with the radio, leading into the Commonwealth story from the comics, which is still going on today so that'll be interesting if they ever get really caught up with the books. I wonder if it's because Danai is supposed to be leaving soon.
The Negan/Judith stuff is always a highlight, this episode didn't disappoint. Judith is so mature, you sometimes forget she's just a kid --- and then she runs off into a blizzard after a dog. :P
The Kingdom has fallen, they all moved to The Hilltop, so it looks like The Hilltop's leadership problem is solved. Part of me thought maybe they'd find Maggie back at the Hilltop when they arrived there. But nope, she's still off doing Whiskey Cavalier (for now). lol Or maybe Maggie is at the place where the voice over the radio came from.
And Carol left with the Alexandrians to go back to Alexandria. I liked her scenes with Daryl and with Lydia. Melissa McBride is the best.
It's nice that they're now only in 2 places instead of three. I'm not counting Oceanside because no major characters live there.

Over to you, Dyl. lol | |

I was bored Christian. This was a finale?
Anyway, last week's epi was good but I kinda agree about it being mostly "nobodies." I don't care about Tara at all. The worst was Carol's "son" and I can't even remember his name rn.

I think an episode like that was needed after the last one.
