LISTEN UP! Poll of the Day is slowing down, we must figure out what to do

The seven pollmasters was a nice idea but PotD has been declining since we started it that way. I do think it’s partly due to the rest of the board generally being very active as well but it’s tough to say. I think we maybe just have poll fatigue in general. WHO KNOWS!

But what can we do about it?? Options:

A. Do nothing. Keep chugging away with the seven pollmasters setup and see if it gets better again and if it doesn’t then NO BIGGIE

B. Go back to weekly pollmasters. People who have the week on their shoulders might come up with better polls

C. Full grab bag. If a poll hasn’t been posted yet, anyone can go ahead and post one if they’re the first

D. Reduce it to poll of the...week. I don’t love this option personally. also don’t love the idea of just two days a week or something. ALL OR NOTHING!

E. Put the whole thing on pause. Just lock up the subforum for a bit and come back to it after some time once we start to miss it

I like the current set up but it's summer time and people are forgetting to do it.

TRUE @summer. The board always naturally slows down when summer starts, it’s a wonder that it hasn’t overall actually. I’m sure that comes into play with POTD

I've found the most activity comes with more controversial polls. The difficulty is in determining what will be controversial. For example, I never thought the "what food would you want to eat right now?" would generate 54 responses (48 if you eliminate mine). I sure didn't expect that. That or ones where we separate ourselves into categories seem to drive more posts and responses.

I'm lucky to get like 6 responses to a poll but at the same time i'm throwing them together last minute.

I think the person a day thing was best idea just maybe have a weekly backup or 2.

I like the potd i don't wantit to go.

B and C as a backup if the deadline is missed.

Maybe just have someone fill in if someone doesn’t post the poll by a certain time.

I also wholly support the "If you miss your poll you must text/FB message TIB everday for a week" punishment.

What a telling poll for that to happen on, though.

Also part of the ‘issue’! People commenting their votes but then not actually voting for it for some reason (not so much with this specific poll)
