Makadewa, Maine

A old RV sits in a clearing off the road a few miles outside of town. It’s clear that it’s seen better days. A few panels are rusted or warped. The paint is stained in some places and peeled away in others. It could easily be mistaken for an abandoned vehicle, were it not for the young woman slumped over against in the driver's seat window, can of beer clutched in one hand and the wheel in the other.

She’s snoring.

Undisclosed Location

Four figures stand inside of a tight, poorly lit cavern. A large tunnelling vehicle sits over to the side, front half buried in the rock that closes off the end of the cave. One of the figures, an angry little man in his forties turns to another member of the group, a young woman with long blue hair.

“SAPPHIRE! OY! ARE WE ALMOST THERE OR WOT?”

He gestures at the collapsed cave wall in front of them.

Sapphire steps back a few feet to get outta their way. She bites her nails nervously and prays that she lined up the tunnel correctly

The apparent leader of the group, Osmond, rolls his eyes and taps his foot impatiently. Seeing him do that, his identical twin brother Elvin does the same.

"KASH." He points at the fourth member of the group, a large, burly guy, then to the drill. "GET ON IT."

Kash climbs up into the seat of the drill and turns it back on, struggling a bit to pull it out of the rock slide it was jammed into. Then he adjusts the drill, looks to Osmond for the okay, and starts tunnelling directly above before he gets it.

The drill makes a horrible noise, but then light starts to shine through where it meets the ceiling.... and then the light starts to spread as cracks appear across the cavern and the entire place begins to shake. Rocks start falling. It looks like the entire chamber where the four of you are standing is about to collapse.

What do you do?

I run back up the tunnel the way we came about 10 feet

Uh oh!

Sapphire, you start running but it's just a little too late. A huge chunk of the ceiling collapses right above you, and while you just barely manage to dodge out of the way, you scream, loudly out of shock, which ends up distracting Kash at the controls of the drill. He turns around to see what's happening, and his hand grips the controls and jerks them suddenly in the wrong direction, jamming the mechanism. The drill makes an awful sound right before it stops working.

Aside from a few scrapes the rest of the crew survives the cave in, but the drill isn't so lucky.

"GREAT! JUST GREAT!" Elvin shouts.

Sapphire ruffles her piercing blue hair around a bit to shake the dirt and bits of rock out of it

The brothers both look like they want to yell some more. That drill was very expensive!!! But Kash hears an order in there, and that's what he's good at, so he shrugs and climbs up the drill to start tearing at pieces of floorboard with his bare hands.

Elvin and Osmond look at you expectantly and don't move, themselves. Osmond crosses his arms, and then Elvin does the same.

I position myself next to Kash and start ripping the pieces of broken floorboards downwards

"YOU WOT???"

Elvin runs over and starts digging, then glances over at his brother who continues to glare at the three of you. Elvin slows down digging, but cuts in front of you and Kash once there's an opening big enough for him. He goes to scurry up into the basement but pauses and looks to his brother for approval first before heading up.
