Corona/Heineken is respectable. I'd just bring a 12 pack of some nice variety pack or like Fat Tire or something.

Are you bringing drinks for yourself (and family) or for the whole gathering? Also, what's with the only beer options being shitty domestic macrobrews? I'm not a beer person, but if asked to bring beer, none of those would even cross my mind.

When I host a BBQ, I provide the meat, and maybe a side, plus a few beverages (likely what I already have on hand). The guests bring additional sides/desserts and whatever else they want to drink.

It works pretty well.
