The box in the street was a warning, and losing Bluebird was bad. But they were lucky that no others had been injured or worse in the blast.

The Riddler was going to pay, and he was going to see to it, with or without backup. He wasn't going to lose the trail.

It was his time to step up and show Batman --- show Gotham --- that he could be the hero that they deserved.

From his perch atop a building, he watched the man duck into an abandoned warehouse.

Entering the warehouse, he felt a chill. And then he realized why.

The floor was slick and icy.

He could see his breath.

And then he noticed a figure in the middle of the room. But it was still.

As he stepped closer, it became clear that this was indeed a person, but someone who was literally frozen in place.

Mr. Freeze, it had to be!

The frozen figure was wearing a hat, and was holding was looked to be a cane.

This is the Riddler! But what happened?

There didn't appear to be anyone else around.

Wasn't I following the Riddler into this warehouse? How did he come to be frozen this way?

Suddenly an icy blast shot past him and he could feel the temperature in the air drop.

He spun in the direction the shot had come from to face his attacker.

"You're not Mr. Freeze," he said.

"How observant of you," the attacker replied. "But Mr. Freeze has clearly been here. By the way, how 'cool' is this gun?"

The attacker took aim as he prepared to duck out of the way. But he wasn't fast enough.

The blast hit him dead on, and he could instantly feel his feet, his hands, his face, his lungs --- his entire body and all of his organs --- start to freeze up, until even his eyes had been glazed over and he could no longer see, no longer breathe, no longer feel.

The shooter laughed, as he strode over to Herm, placed a finger on his frozen head, gently gave a push and tipped him onto the floor.

Herm shattered into a million pieces.

Herm has died.

I feel like maybe you should've waited to see if anyone claimed to be blocked if that's the case

So, I missed nearly all of D1. It seems like it was as much of a clusterfuck as normal. But one post stuck out to me from close to the end of the day:

I get that Vernon was the inactive D1 lynch. Which....whatever. That's the policy*.

But why would you make this post? "go after all the people who didn't vote for him" is the kind of post that just does not sit well with me. You voted so that you would look good IF he flipped scum. Which says a lot to me. Why are you worried so much about if people go for people who didn't vote for Vernon? Seems like you were hedging your bets and trying to make yourself look good.



(*my opinions on lynching inactives solely on them being inactive without regard to potential alignment is well known around here, but I also know I'm in the minority on that opinion, so I'm not going to relitigate this now)
