Roth parked his car nervously. Glancing out of the window into the dismal rainy courtyard, he looked up at the guard.
"Do I just leave it here?"
The guard nodded.
"We'll escort you to the destination. The subject is in a medical bay along the corridor."
Roth followed the guard into the main building. The front area seemed to be a large and untidy cargo bay. A number of corridors led away. They were heavily guarded by military personnel. No shock there. A door was opened at the end of one of the passageways. A sign on the front read "Medical Bay 5".
Roth sighed and stepped inside. There was a young man strapped to a bed with secure harnesses, writhing and sweating. Glancing up at Roth he gasped excitedly but didn't speak. A scientist stepped forward with a grim expression.
"We had to silence him. This is a military facility after all, his constant screaming was incredibly dangerous. He called for you enough times though, my superiors said we should send out word to the village. Your payment will be given upon successful completion of the operation."
Roth shrugged.
"This isn't really about the money, doctor. Kristoff here is a friend. He attends my church every Sunday. Payment will be his safety."
The scientist shook his head.
"Safety is not a guarantee, father. The soldiers outside are screaming for this guy's blood. He killed three out front and he's here because he beat on his wife and kid. Frankly he's a danger. Once the danger is removed, he'll be sent to tribunal. He's looking at the death penalty for everything he's done."
Roth snarled.
"But clearly he isn't in control. The man is sick."
The scientist shrugged.
"Conclusively we've run every test we can, he's delusional but that doesn't account for the so called "super strength" bursts. Frankly, though we've tested him for every known substance, it's highly likely to be a new kind of drug in his system."
He glanced at Roth.
"No offense to your beliefs father, but I'm a scientist. The mumbo jumbo you're going to do here today won't help. I don't believe in demons and ghosts. But my superiors insisted for whatever idiotic reason and I can't defy a direct order."
He paused for a moment before continuing.
"Do the church generally encourage exorcist types?"
Roth shook his head.
"This is a private military operation though. I can trust word of it won't leave the building. And besides, I have to assist a friend in need."
Kristoff's eyes reddened as he clutched towards the harnesses. His body shook and convulsed, raising the bed slightly off the ground. There was a roar, apparently breaking through whatever silencing serum had been used. His appearance became maddened and sinister as he tried to lash out with heavily harnessed arms.
"I've never seen anything like it in all my years. But demons don't exist. Do your thing father so we can say we tried it and then leave."
Roth glared at the struggling figure.
"I need to be alone."
The scientist glanced at his colleagues and then mumbled something into his communicator. Sighing, he signaled to the door. The inhabitants of the room all left. The scientist stopped in the doorway and turned.
"The room will be flanked. Don't try anything father, though I presume a holy man such as yourself wouldn't dream of it."
The door slammed shut as Roth stared down at the struggling figure with thoughtful eyes. He closed them and began to chant under his breath. He mumbled the words slowly and deeply in the dark room.
|
|
Roth stood nervously back as everybody squabbled and waved scraps of paper around. He sighed and slammed his palm against his head.
"We don't have time to argue. Just lay the pieces down and put them together. They should all fit. Is it really so hard?"
"Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr give me things and I might help. MIGHT. Not interested if there's nothing in it for me though gang." Henry yelled.
Roth glared at him.
"Your lives are at stake!" He insisted.
"Just our lives?" Enquired Natalie cautiously. "What about yours."
Roth shrugged.
"We're all in danger. The whole world is! And you can't hand it over. I trust that some of those who obtained paper may be infiltrators but come on! Is it really such a task?"
There was a scowling amongst the crowd. Nobody was doing anything or saying anything. Roth glanced over with a despondent expression as energy flittered down into embers all around. It was like a warzone. That's when he saw the shape by the fourth tower entrance.
Bashing at the door with his full strength, Kristoff booted and shouldered it until it eventually gave way. The group watched in silence as a loud whoosh filled the air.
Smashing so hard that the ground shook, a shadowy beast landed in front of them. Everybody backed against the wall as the beast hissed and screeched. Leaping forth it let out a pungent smoke that filled the air. The group coughed and spluttered uncontrollably as the beast flew away into the darkness.
"Oh men!" Jeff screamed.
There was a slump as Tayvie fell to the floor choking. As he did, a blast of energy fell from above and smashed hard into the overhang above the main entrance. A chunk of metal fell and crushed his body fully. There was a collective shudder. That was no way to go but at least it was the least useful member of the group. Everybody else seemed fine...for now. A click and whirring noise drew their attention backwards.
The door was opening slowly. Heads spun to watch the figure of Kristoff hobble out of the guard tower. He collapsed on the floor. Rushing over, Roth signalled for help as three of the group lifted him to the door. They stepped inside, glad to be out of the storm. A quick lever flick on the inside sealed it.
"That could have been disastrous!" Roth reprimanded.
"What were you all doing out there? What nonsense was that?"
Everybody muttered and hissed. It was clear these people had no intention of working together. Helios shrugged.
"I didn't see you do anything productive old man."
Roth glanced at the surly man. He was sure there was something familiar there.
"You remind me of somebody I met once. He wasn't much help either. That man got his hand blown off because he rushed in without talking. Maybe we should all just calm down and move on."
Helios cracked his knuckles.
"Both hands still intact old man. Since you know so much, which path do we take."
Roth span around and looked bemused. This wasn't a cargo bay with a load of passages. There was a long corridor leading on to two others. Had he remembered wrongly? This was definitely the same base. He'd never forget it...He scratched his head awkwardly. His memory must be fading.
"I don't remember....maybe we should try both?"
The group glanced angrily at one another. This wouldn't be pleasant.
Objectives:
There are two pathways. One leading off to the left, one leading off to the right. You must each post an exit action to move either left or right. Post ##Exit: Direction in your thread or journal to move. If you do not post a movement, your direction will be chosen for you.
Phase 3 ends in 24 hours.
|
|
So we need to decide where we are going and we may still have time to put these pieces together if people will post them. Best to stay together?
Also, did anyone happen to read or get (save) a thread update midphase during phase 1? (when I was taken from the bus) I have some questions about things I was told and want to discuss it here. I'm not sure if we all were told the same things around that time. |

sucks to suck Tayvie.
If we split up for the voting thing or w/e do we only vote for people in our group or are the votes a majority.
Also can anyone communicate with someone else like privately like twinsies or something. I think splitting up could be useful but splitting up would also make our bootlists towards the other side really shitty. |
|
You think its a good idea for Town to admit they have a role like Twins? |

Didn't think it would be a bad idea. What can the mafia do? From what it sounds like people don't actually die until at the end. We've had 2 bootlist votes and no one has been lynched or w/e yet. |

Hey guys.
I have two things I'd like to say at this point, because if we're going to be splitting up the group at all, it could prove to be rather important.
I was silenced last round. I did have one of the paper shards, which I slipped to Helios because I thought that he would be the most likely to actually use it in a constructive way.
I'm not 100% certain why I got silenced, if I had to guess I'd say it was because I was being an annoying dick. But that seems like kind of a waste for the mafia (or whatever they are) to use the role for, since I was able to just come right back and say that it happened.
I also noticed that Ari didn't ever actually confirm that he wasn't scum, which makes me more than a little curious, since there wasn't any good reason for him to avoid doing so. |
|
I bet the mafia was trying to frame Henry. Either that or Henry did it because he thought people would think exactly that (: But it's probably the former! |
|
Yeah, neither option would really surprise me. |

i have good news everyone
i read the rules. and this game is very interesting!
each week we are voting in our journals... prviately? this is news to me! I imagine me saying "fuck you dont know rulez yo" all the time has been quite an annoyance. im sure pauluz williz roth has been facepalming at my misery of a player.
therefore i can assume you have all already voted for me to be killed.
and thats why.
LET THERE BE LIGHT |
|
*puts on detective hat*
let the scumhunting begin |
|
Did I miss anything significant in the past 18 hours? Ozzie times can be cruel!
anyway im new to these games, but you can pretty much justify any behavior as scum apparently, and the opposite is equally scum, what a world we live in ! |
|
Can we discuss what direction we are going in or cant you tell the others?
Splitting into two equally large groups would probably be the best solution right? I assume that if there are twins they would put themselves in different groups, they dont need to claim... |
|
Also what do people think about the bus driver ability. Its one shot and just used to change 1 persons top target for a mafia one.
There is no way to tell when its best used cause you cant know for sure who people are going to put on top. There is also no way to know who to use it on for maximum gain without claiming, which we dont want so im asking if people trust me to use it in the best possible way?
I want to use it before I die or something equally horrible happens. Would be a waste not to use it.
Small question to Helios: Did you get passed the note from Rob? |

assuming there are twins who can communicate, I think it only makes them vulnerable to reveal their identity. Not really a fan of this idea. But I agree, splitting up without the certainty of communication is probably a worse idea. Is splitting up even that wise?

The votes are for the end, but I assume people could still die! If there are twins, just split yourselves up, guys, and reveal only if necessary.
Also, I've been blocked! I can't vote today. |

Do we need to find anything specific? I think splitting up would be a good idea if thats the goal but im not sure what this "final showdown" will bring. If we split up and dont find each other before the set number of phases are over, what happens? Also its not like we can make a comprehensive vote with half the group missing

The bus ability is basically a one shot ability that makes me change one players pick for the top spot on his voting list for a random mafia player.
So if you picked person A to be at the top of your list but he is town, he will be swapped with a random mafia player B for the top spot on your list.
Before:
A
B
After:
B
A
You wont know I changed your list and if the top spot is already assigned to a mafia player, that player will receive double votes.
So like its impossible without claiming to know who its best used on. So im wondering if people trust me to just pick someone. I dont think a group decision can be made on this matter since we dont have all the information.
|
|
I trust you enough to use your better judgement tbh. I'd say once you've actually put in the action, let us know its been used that round so we don't go clamoring for you to use it later. |
|

Probably the hardest to find the best time. No way to know how much longer I will survive. Cant know if there will be a better time in the future, cant really predict these Lab games!
No way to know when using it will have the greatest affect.
Decisions decisions! |

@ Ari: I think you should hold on to your power for now! Could prove to do more harm than good if used so early.
@ Helios: I got a confirmation message that mine was passed to you. You should have received what looks like a lower case L. At least that is what I made it out to be.
If a certain somebody was claiming twin earlier, they should decide which direction to take first, and the other twin should hop onto the other exit inconspicuously, in order to avoid detection. |

K, so when I was taken to the top of the bus, Kristoff told me if he starts acting strangely to shoot him in the head. Roth pulled him back and covered his mouth. Said something about not making noise. But the whole exchange seems very odd and I wanted to throw it out in the group for opinions. Also, so that I'm not the only one watching Kristoff.
|
|
Why are we splitting or even discussing splitting?! Is there even any reason at all to divide other than to increase scums chances of taking us all out?
We need to make another list, Tayvie should stay at the top position, but votes will now fall to whoever is second on the list. (if I am understanding that wrong, someone please tell me) Who do we want that to be? Based on activity we have a few that have posted, but not contributed anything to the discussions. Any opinions? |
|
Why have Tayvie at the top? We have no read on him :D
Shouldnt we put people at the top we think are acting like scum? Captain Canada was acting fishy on phase 1 and didnt say much phase 2.....
I only suggested splitting up if we need to find something. Like in lab you have to find the key so its better to split up to cover more ground. If we arnt looking for anything then I dont think we should split up |
|
I only said Tayvie because no one is discussing this list, and the only thing said was I think by maybe ff_zero when he said he put inactives at the top of his list. If town doesn't start to coordinate in some sort we're going to just be picked off.
If you have sound reason for someone like Rob to be at the top of the list, please voice it, I didn't see all of phase 1 so don't have as much to base a decision on. Which is why I asked if anything suspicious was said after I was gone.
Maybe we need to get into mafia mindset...consider who we would lynch and start putting our lynch decision at the top of our lists? Idk but we better start talking more. And that's to everyone, not just Ari. If majority (town) doesn't coordinate their lists, we will never win this game. |
|
Captain Canada = Jeff
Something DR said on phase 1 made me think she was scum but im not sure about now. Curtis has been quiet. Bryce, Waka and Dylan have been giving me some vibes. |
|
Guys did Helios ever say anything about a shard. And ari your role explicitely states that a mafia member will be number 1 on the persons list? |
|
That's not the only thing I've been giving you Mari.
|
|
Its not my role, its the bus driver ability I got on phase 1
|

Sorry, thank you for clarifying who you meant with the Canada comment.

Lets say I use it on you Dylan. You have me at the top of your list. Making me your target. But alas I am town so a random mafia player is swapped with me and becomes your target. |

Sorry, haven't been here because of family issues last night, so i've missed whatever happened at the end of the last phase. Can anybody catch me up, please?
As for this phase currently I'm going to stand by the decision of not splitting up. At least so far it doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
I'll re-read this topic once more now though, I've missed some posts and I think i need clarification on some issues. |
|
I feel like we should go left. Definitely not splitting up though. |

Wouldn't it just be the smartest thing to be "silenced" as to not be suspected as Mafia?
Can you use items and pass them when you're silenced? |
|
|
Just to clarify, Tayvie was modkilled for inactivity. |
|
|
And Ari, who knows when you will die, but no sense using it now. Better to use it when we kind of get more of an idea of who Mafia is. For all we know we're on the right track and you'd waste your ability. |
|
Splitting up is dumb because we don't really have an objective or something to find, so there is no need for a drastic split, that just makes us vulnerable.
|
|
What was it that put suspicion on me Phase 1? I'm honestly just curious. I don't have anything to hide but I know I was a little extra forceful trying to get discussion going that round.
I unfortunately keep missing the phase ends, so my notes are currently nonexistent and admittedly my memory's not the best thing to work off of. Do you still have your list you posted last round, Natalie? Of the task you had with the gun? I remember there being a few people mentioned in the flavor as being attacked by the shadow things (thus having their votes cancelled out?) , though the only people I can remember seeing attacked were I think Curtis and Wikey. If I'm wrong or someone saw someone else, please mention it. It's important that we know if our votes are counting in the final judgement or not and for which rounds.
My personal list for phase 1 and 2 are exactly identical (mainly because I missed the transition between 2 and 3), and I had Rob at the very top. I didn't bother putting the genuine inactives ala Tayvie at the top because I assume modkills won't factor into the final judgement.
The reason I put Rob at the top was mainly because of his posts. I think I actually have a few of those saved (via copy pasting to Paul and :| ing hard at them. It was the "Meh. Might as well give Ari busdriver *bandwagons*, Meh I don't know who I'd trust with the gun Meh fine natalie's good, meh,btw I'm definitely totally not scum and can be trusted with the gun. I sucked in Lab 2 as a bad guy so even if I was a bad guy you'd know like right away."
The quote about not being scum based on Lab 2 performance was the worst one for me, because while Rob was calling out various people based on metagaming, he sold himself incredibly short. He may have been awful scum in Lab2, but he did a fairly good job in Mini Sausage as the usurper Randy and is generally a good player in most respects in other games.
I can't vote or use my role this round due to the block, but I agree it's time we start discussing our lists.
As for splitting, I really need to reread the flavor for this phase a little closer before I say yes on that, but splitting up don't seem incredibly smart to me and will make our task of building up our list much more difficult. I assume we would meet back up within a phase or two, but that's not something I wanna take a bet on. |
|
Wha direction we going? Left? I likely won't be on for the next 12 hours so unless someone says otherwise I'm gonna go left. |
|

True, and so far it doesn't seem we're 'searching' for anything specific... I do really think we should all keep together. It's safer that way.
|
Bryce, Waka and Dylan have been giving me some vibes. |
*turns vibrator batteries off*
But really, what? |
|
The best way to discuss the lists would probably be to start with who we find the least suspicious, and work our way up.
I will get to work on a proposed list. Everyone else should too.
Also, @ Curtis: I gave my shard of code to Helios because I couldn't read it |
|
Left it is, please don't abandon me y'all |

Yes. It was explicitly stated in the notice that I got about the silencing that I was still allowed to vote and do actions in my journal. I passed Helios my N, about two hours or so after they were dispersed.

Top of last page I have Helios quoted as saying he was passed an additional shard. I took the wording to mean he had one, and was given another? I might have totally misread that though. |

I assume you mean this post Nat? By that post I'd assume he should have 3 shards (if both things got through) however it seems like he only has two. |
|
@Dr: Just a metagaming vibe my dear!
@Waka: Its just a feeling!
Ive actually had Rob pretty middle - low on my list
Bottom is Natalie, Henry, Patrick, FF0 and Dutchiee
Boc is moving up the list ;)
Rest are middle |
|
I don't have the image, since Roth edited it out after I gave the slip away, but it was pretty readable as an N, and I remember there being enough space to the left of it that I had the impression that the N was the first letter in the sequence, but I could be entirely wrong on that. |
|
Also, I am in class right now, but I will respond to Rose's post as soon as I can, because I definitely understand where she's coming from, and I'd like to defend myself before I wind up getting killed for it. |
|
Ari - Volunteered for bus driver on phase 2. He has a decent one shot role which can be used to our advantage. I am thinking town at the moment.
Boc - Boc is usually more active then this when town, with plenty of solid contributions to make. He is usually active if he is scum too, so I aren't sure what to make of him.
Bryce - Quick to announce he had a shard of code yesterday. I am thinking town.
Curtis - Curtis hasn't been available to be fully active, as he has just announced, and he was also quick to reveal his letter yesterday. Not on my radar at the moment.
DR - Claims she was blocked. If she is telling the truth, she is pretty much confirmed town.
Rob - Unsure what to make of him so far.
Dutchiee - Again, very little to go on either way.
FF0 - First to reveal he had a shard of code yesterday I think. He isn't looking too suspicious at all right now.
Helios - Disappeared just as I put in the order to give him my shard of code last night. Could have been innocent, but I also recall him pointing fingers at Ari for volunteering to be bus driver phase 1. Unsure of what to make of him at the moment.
Henry - Claims to have had a shard of code yesterday but didn't even bother telling us what it said. Henry could well be cbf town, but I am getting scum vibes from him.
Natalie - I would rank her very low on my list.
TLG - Not worth mentioning.
Patrick - Lurking like fuck, not contributing much at all. Very hard to read as a result.
Vespis - Not very talkative, but watching all the same. Nothing suspicious so far.
Waka - One of the few people who were enthusiastic about trying to solve the shard puzzle yesterday. I am thinking town at the moment.
My proposed list would be something like this:
Least suspicous
Ari
Natalie
DR
Waka
Tom Brady
FF0
Bryce
TLG
Vespis
Patrick
Curtis
Dutchiee
Rob
Helios
Henry
Boc
Most suspicous
I aren't sure if you are supposed to include yourself on these lists, but I have been doing so. I put myself towards the middle because I see the other players as more important contributors.
I am wondering if it is a bad idea to stick with one fixed list for several phases. Perhaps we should all decide on a new one each time to avoid stacking votes on potentially innocent players.

@Dr: Just a metagaming vibe |
I swear to god I'm going to come to your house and kill you. I have stated this multiple times in multiple games, metagaming only -ever- helps scum. Please do not do it.
Back on topic, I'm ready to submit my action in going left. I suggest everyone else do the same? |
|
Oh...I forgot to add Dylan to my least.
Not much to go on with him really though.
My proposed list again:
Least suspicous
Ari
Natalie
DR
Waka
Tom Brady
FF0
Bryce
TLG
Dylan
Vespis
Patrick
Curtis
Dutchiee
Rob
Helios
Henry
Boc
Most suspicous |
|
TLG might be useless, but I have a potential use for him. Any top spots on the most suspicious that we are unsure of, could be occupied by him, so as not to incriminate a useful player.

Captain Canada = Jeff
Something DR said on phase 1 made me think she was scum but im not sure about now. Curtis has been quiet. Bryce, Waka and Dylan have been giving me some vibes. |
I've been around, but not much due to busy weekends to fully read everything
I do think we should stick together, as its safer. I'll put a left in my journal as I may not be back by the end of the phase. |
|
No idea if ill be able to go on the internetz before the deadline so im just going to go left
Some people have already exited left so why not follow ? |
|
Same here, I will be exiting left. I have class until 8 EST but will provide an excellent rebuttal to Rose's suspicions at some point after that. (Or possibly during class if it's boring.) |
|
|
@Dr: Just a metagaming vibe my dear!
@Waka: Its just a feeling!
Ive actually had Rob pretty middle - low on my list
Bottom is Natalie, Henry, Patrick, FF0 and Dutchiee
Boc is moving up the list ;)
Rest are middle |
Why?
And Ari I think you should use your ability pretty soon. We don't know if the scum have any kills in this game so it'd be better to use it early than not use it at all |
|
lol wut. You're not sure what to make of me, so I'm the most suspicious?
And yeah I know I haven't been very active, but like Curtis I've been busier than usual with college starting back up |
|
btw I've had Jeffrey squarely on top of my list each round so far. I don't even remember what for tbh, but I remember him saying something pretty suspicious on D1 about Natalie that seemed possibly scumbuddyish
And Henry's been at the bottom each round |
|

I definitely wouldn't say most suspicious, but I will admit you were bottom of my list day one. Because of that, in the past 24-48 hours I've been watching more for your reaction to different things and haven't seen much from you so it's tough to trust you as much as I did day 1.

Yes you did. You bandwagoned your vote on Natalie and justified it by saying she was "the only option that made sense" or something along those lines. At first I thought it was scumbuddyish and had you AND Natalie near the top of my list, but lately Natalie's slid down to around the middle of my list because she's been acting pretty town-like. I now think it was either you coming up with a shitty, nonsensical reason for bandwagoning on the vote to make it LOOK like you weren't bandwagoning (which scum would want to do to avoid accusations) or you just said something really, really stupid. Which... tbh it was PROBABLY the latter but I haven't seen anyone do any overtly scummy things since then to make them knock you off the top (although Drrrr laid out some pretty convincing reasoning to vote for Rob earlier which he interestingly ignored, so he's risen from near the bottom to near the top).
NICE TRY JEFF |

Similar to what I have been noticing as well. One question for you. I keep moving those "little to go on" people higher and higher on my list. What's your thought on those people? Guess it just seems the perfect way to float along, not help or cause doubt and end up surviving.
|
|
|
(although Drrrr laid out some pretty convincing reasoning to vote for Rob earlier which he interestingly ignored, so he's risen from near the bottom to near the top). |
Um, are you kidding me?
Not only did I NOT ignore that, I have posted TWICE that I will answer those accusations after I'm done the eight consecutive hours of classes that I have today. Since I'm pretty interested in not dying, I'd kinda like to answer them in a useful way, as opposed to slamming out an explanation in the middle of a lecture and raising more suspicions.
|
|
Missed that. That's what I get for skimming I guess! I still can revise my list if I buy your defense though. |

So if you think its the latter of the two that still makes me scummy in your books? That's just as bad which makes you look scummy in my eyes. If you genuinely thought it was scummy then I'd understand your claim but if you think its me being stupid then there's no reason to think I'm scummy. Yeah I never thought out my answer before putting the Natalie vote, I was merely just getting her the votes needed so we'd have a majority. |
|
So Wikey has Boc at the top of his list and I have Boc at the bottom of mine. We really need a better plan for these lists. -_- Can we maybe get a list posted here that most agree on so we can vote similarly?
For anyone showing up later in the day and not reading everything, make sure to post your exit.
I believe we pretty much decided to stay together and exit Left.

No.
Read this part very carefully:

Which... tbh it was PROBABLY the latter but I haven't seen anyone do any overtly scummy things since then to make them knock you off the top |
I'll put it in even simpler terms: what you did is the scummiest thing I've seen so far, therefore no one has been higher on the list than you.
I don't even know why you're still arguing after you lied about not saying anything about Natalie and I demonstratively proved you wrong. That combined with "OMG you think I'm scummy? That makes... you scummy!" makes me feel even more strongly about leaving you at the top of my list! |
|
|

I dunno if that's a good idea because scum could easily influence it. And even if not, the list posted could be way off-base.
I think the best route would just be what we're doing today: voicing our opinions about people and let people decide for themselves based off those |

Alright, here's my response to Drr.
|
The reason I put Rob at the top was mainly because of his posts. I think I actually have a few of those saved (via copy pasting to Paul and :| ing hard at them. It was the "Meh. Might as well give Ari busdriver *bandwagons*, |
This was 100% due to the fact that I didn't feel like spending ten trillion hours arguing about something that would ultimately prove meaningless. It was day one, there was no good reason to trust or mistrust anybody else in the context of the game's events. There was also no reason to assume anything about what might come of electing someone to the bus driver position. Someone volunteered, and I did not have any great reason to vote against them, especially since it seemed like nobody was willing to step up. If there had been any semblance of a case against Ari other than "this might be a scum bandwagon," I'd have been more cautious, but there wasn't. In fact, even if there had been, then it could have been, "the scum don't want Ari, because they want one of their own, so Replacement Candidate X is a bandwagon!" And then we would have gone around in circles forever and ever until I felt like dying.
So, yeah, I bandwagoned a random person to avoid having to choose between him and a different random person, and saved myself hours of tedious debate, which would ultimately have changed nothing at all, in the process.
|
Meh I don't know who I'd trust with the gun Meh fine natalie's good, |
This argument is just stupid on the face of it. I laid out specific criteria for who I'd trust with the gun. Natalie met those criteria. The only other candidate who actually made an effort was Henry, and the hell if I was going to ever consider giving him the gun, ever. In fact, I already snarked at Dylan for raising this exact same argument; if you want, I can repost it.
|
meh,btw I'm definitely totally not scum and can be trusted with the gun.
Well, what the heck did you want me to say there, Rose? I wanted the gun for my own protection because I don't trust anybody, and saying "I'm a very intelligent person who has successfully made it through X number of games that none of you saw me in, solely by being sneaky" is kinda counterproductive on that front. I don't have a lot of history to draw on with regards to my own trustworthiness, so I pulled literally the only example I had in the deck.
However, the gun argument, as almost all of us wound up admitting, was pointless, since any scum who got it wouldn't be dumb enough to use it unless they knew for sure they could get away with it after the fact. Any candidate for gun ownership who didn't agree to wait for a group consensus before using it would be signing their own death warrant.
Fact of the matter is that I am not scum, and any lie detector in the cast can feel free to scan me and prove it. |

The group was drawn from their current dilemma to a sound on the floor. Spinning around, heads turned to look at the fallen figure of Natalie. Coughing weakly, her eyes opened. She glanced around at the faces as they blurred into focus.
Then slowly she pushed herself upright and groggily stepped forwards.
"What happened?" She said weakly. |
|
Natalie you have miraculously been revived! It is a miracle! |
|
OR...... Patterson's back?
*turns to Rose* |
|
I was just about caught up when the other thread was taken away. Was there any thing big in the last page or two? |
|
What the hell? Natalie died? And revived? Can somebody please explain me what happened? |
|
I read where she coughed up blood and died. Then the gun and an additional rifle fell out of her pack. |
|

Where did you get the rifle?
Did you get any messages about dying? |

She was chosen to get the gun on phase one. We don't know where she got the rifle from. Maybe she got a tower, got it from the challenge on the bus or always had it from the start. |
|
Yeah I supposed about the one we elected her to take on the first phase, but a rifle... That's what's bothering me atm... Aside from the whole revival thing... |
|
Yeah it probably came from the towers. We still don't know who got stuff from those |
|
Thanks for the welcome back. All I know is that I died, did receive a thread about that and was revived. I didn't read anything past Rob's reply since I was out though.
I had one gun from the beginning of the game when it was decided I would take it, and just got the hunting rifle from the second tower. Can I ask who got them? |
|
I don't think anyone else has said if they got a tower. |
|
What did your revival flavor look like Natalie? |
|
It was just one line saying I was revived. No other info. |

Welcome back, Natalie!
How was death? |
Thanks :)
Surprisingly brief and I didn't enjoy it. Don't want to return to it anytime soon.
*gosh that sounds bad :$ drags mind back up out of the gutter....* |
|
Thank-you to whoever I owe for the revival. I do appreciate it. <3 |
|
so uh why is it a new thread. |
|
It was like this in Lab too. When someone was revived it was removed like this. |
|
btw since I don't think Ari saw what I said before the previous thread went away: you should use your bus ability before you get killed too imo. Who knows if the revival was just a one-time thing |
|
|
Surprisingly brief and I didn't enjoy it. Don't want to return to it anytime soon. |
That's what she said! |
|
I believe so.
So...how many people went left? Do we know? |
|
Also, what are we supposed to do in here? |
|
##EXIT LEFT
people going left count: atleast 1. |
|
We still have access to the 4th guard tower, since we still have time, any chance we could get that sorted?
|
|
Anybody remember the letters?
R
N
i think Wikey said something of an L or a 6 |
|
Curtis said he had an E I think
and do we know what was up with Helios and the ones he has? |

The one Helios had was the N i think ... However I don't know if he clarified the issue in the previous topic... |
|
how much time is left in this phase? |
|
|
The one Helios had was the N i think ... However I don't know if he clarified the issue in the previous topic... |
I did!
It turns out, Rob passed me the N, and Wikey passed me the L. So, my accusatory claims of scum was more Helios not knowing how to read. |
|
so we have
R
L
N
anything else? |
|
Do we know how many letters there are in total? |
|
Well, someone mentioned that Henry had one, so it's at least six letters long. My guess is that if any scum got them, we're never gonna know.
I'll try and run it through a few handy programs that I used to use back in my Survivor days, see if I can't pick something out. Admittedly, at this point it's essentially bruteforcing, so the odds of it actually working are next to nil.
Helios, are we sure that it's an L and not a 6? Is anybody else's scrap lower case? (That doesn't matter in terms of the password, according to Roth's rules, but it might affect the order.)
Also, I missed everything after my last post. So if anything interesting happened (aside from Natalie being res'd), lemme know.
Also. We still haven't seen Henry around, and I think that's potentially suspicious. It's entirely plausible that the mafia silenced me and then him, the idea being that I would immediately suspect him of silencing me and lead a lynch train that he was powerless to stop. If that's actually the mafia's strategy, I'm more than a little insulted. |
|
Alright, so, a preliminary scan for seven-letter words using two wildcards gave me about 142 potential combinations. There are a further couple of hundred for six-letter words, but I think that the program is trying to use two wildcards for that as well, so I'll reset the parameters and check again. I'll try and see if I can get any of that working.
Problem is, if we're missing more than two letters, or if it's anything other than a word, there probably isn't a way for my program to get it, since it can't handle three wildcard characters. If anybody has a letter and has not spoken up, I strongly recommend doing so now, since we're rapidly losing our ability to try this. |
|
Yeah I tried some 6 and 7 letter combinations with R/L/N/A/E that seemed possible but no luck. Who knows how many letters are being held out on us |
|
The thing I'm using lets me use 3 wild cards. There's like... a ridiculous amount of 8 letter words though:

Well there's 309 words there so I'm not gonna go through them all but I just went through and entered every word I felt would make sense as a password and none of them worked :/ |

Try every word beginning with N. I think that one might be the beginner. |
|
WAIT. What if it's not an L? What if it's a G? Helios said he thought it looked like a 6, right? 6 and G can look really similar in the right font. |

lol I'm not sure how a 6 can look like an L? Yeah it might be a G. I'll plug that in |
|
What makes you think N is the first letter btw? |
|
There was a decent amount space to the left of the N on the paper shard I got. Admittedly, I have not seen any of the other shards so I don't know whether they were largely spaced out or not, so it could be a red herring. |
|
Also, I wouldn't recommend only trying the obvious solutions. After all, the sudoku solution wasn't terribly obvious, and Rose said that the solution for tower three was "Mellisa" (or Melissa?), and that wasn't obvious either. |
|
To be frank, I think the other one is a l, because really, the best thing I can say it looks like is a freaking sabertooth. |
|
It would probably be against the rules to post it. Sigh... |

Can you pass it to me?
Paul is on so I could pass it right back |
|
...yeah, pretty sure that's an L. It's pretty much just a straight line, I guess it could also be a capital I. There's something slightly to the right of it but I think that's just part of the next letter. There's a little part of it that's perpendicular to the middle of the L, and then underneath that there's a line that's parallel with the L.
Could be a lowercase "f"? |
|
Geesh. That's confusing as hell. |

hmmmm dont want to sound arrogant why kill Natalie and not me? Surely if the mafia feared the bus driver ability they would have shot me in the face?
Aint it possible something other than the mafia killed Natalie? Dont have any suggestions though
Rob is looking pretty town to me. |

I think it's pretty fair fetched. I guess nat might have been chosen for the weapon? But unless a scum was being very diligent and ready to pounce, it also makes little sense. Nat seems pretty trusted in this game so far, so maybe the scum just wanted a solution to a potential problematic townie.
Anyway with the guns in unknown hands, I think it is especially important we stick together. Splitting up was never a good idea tho.
