I also remembered shortly after I preordered the walking dead michonne and got hyped and still haven't played it. So maybe it was kind of short sighted

Apparently there is a graphics card that if you have the most up to date driver it messes with the character models and they have black lines shooting out of them. Not sure if thats true, but that is the only documented similarity to the problem I am having. On top of that it lags like a mofo (I am hoping because of the lines). I know my computer isn't state of the art but its less than a year old and I know it has decent graphics capabilities.

Yeah not too surprised, first game with the new engine and all. I don't really get how this shit doesn't get caught in QA tho

And it works! Kind of. The graphical glitches and sound/video not being on the same page are fixed but even at the worst graphic settings the FPS is super low. Makes the button pressing fight scenes really hard. After failing 3 times on the first fight I decided I might wait until a few more patches come out. Though in the future I can confirm I had been doing telltale right. Wait for all the episodes to come out and then buy it when it comes on sale.
