Light beer just has extra water.

Like anything, if you consume the full version, you are more satisfied and actually have less of it in the long run.

And of course I'm an early poster on this.

The flavor of the Sam Adams is pretty good. And I'm a Guinness lover.

For example, I can drink a single Uncle Jacobs Stout that is like drinking a six of those light beers alcohol wise but tastes a whole lot better.

Well yeah, if you're going to use moderation and only drink one or two beers ... :P

I'd rather kick back and drink a couple of good beers (10% ABV+) than down a ton of crappy ones.

And yus, Sam Adams is gravy. I got a variety pack with my buddy a while ago and it was very good.

Beer is for the weak. How do you drink whiskey on a diet?

Tonight, dpending on the temperature, I'm drinking either Great Divide Hercules imperial IPA (if warmer) or Flying Dog Horn Dog barleywine (if cooler).

Depends on how you prefer it- neat, you don't have much options other than moderation. OTR, straight up, or with a nip of water, you at least can say it's a diet drink, since it has a touch of water!

Alternatively, if you are a whiskey fan and want the flavor but with a bit less alcohol and calories, you can go with a nice bourbon barrel aged beer.
