Hey everyone! I'm looking to host an on-site game. If you're interested in hearing about how it works, or playing, you can read below. I like to think I gave a pretty thorough set of instructions, but feel free to contact me if you want clarification on anything!
~~~
:: The Premise ::
If you're reading this, then hopefully you're interested in playing FE Loves Money. This is an on-site, non-alias game intended to emulate MTV's I Love Money. The game will take a little over a month, with each round taking a few days. In each round there will be a challenge, as well as voting/decision making updates. The challenges shouldn't be too time-consuming, but in order to have a fun and meaningful game, some challenges will take more time than others. Ideally, I'm aiming for 18 players.
:: How it Works ::
FE Loves Money will begin with a captain's challenge. The two captains will alternate picking players, constructing their teams. These will be the teams for a solid duration of the game.
Each round, teams will elect a leader, and cannot elect the same leader in back-to-back rounds. Then, the entire team will compete in a challenge, with the leader having to make a decision regarding the challenge. The team that wins the challenge will be immune for the round, and the winning team's leader will become paymaster.
The losing team will be responsible for placing three members of their team into the vault. The losing team's leader will automatically enter the vault. The other two members to enter the vault will be determined by vote. Each member of the losing team (including the leader) will have two votes, and must vote for two different people to enter the vault. Ties will be broken by challenge performance. If there is a tie in challenge performance, it will be broken by a coin flip (randomizer.)
Once the 3 players to enter the vault are determined, the paymaster (winning team leader) will choose to eliminate one of these 3 players. This process continues until a predetermined point in the game, in which the game becomes individual.
Once the game is individual, the process for determining the paymaster and who enters the vault shifts slightly. Each round, there will be a challenge, and the winner of the challenge will become paymaster. The poorest performer in the challenge will automatically be entered into the vault. Then, everyone except for the paymaster (but including the poorest performer) will cast two votes to send two players into the vault. Once the 3 players entering the vault have been determined, the paymaster will eliminate one of them. The winner of the game will be determined by a challenge.
:: Challenges ::
Much like any game, challenges in this game will vary. This is to keep the game interesting and on pace. Challenges will last 24 hours unless otherwise stated; however, extensions can be granted if necessary. Challenges could consist of puzzles, posting, luck, games, and more.
At times, you will not be allowed to discuss your challenge performance with others. Please abide by this rule when it's stated. Even if it's not readily apparent, there are reasons why I'll ask you not to discuss your challenge performance, so for the sake of the game, don't do it!
In order to keep the game on pace and challenges interesting, some challenges will be administered by PM. These challenges will be timed using the PM system on NDIM, which allows me to see when you open a message. And I'll be using that timestamp to time you. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that...
If I PM you a challenge, do not open it until you are ready to complete it. I cannot stress this enough.
^I will emphasize this throughout the game but it's important to make it clear now. Due to the competitive nature of the game, I will not be able to make exceptions if you open your PM and you're not ready to compete.
:: Timeline ::
Very generally, the timeline for a round will look like this:
Day 1: Challenge given. Have 24 hours to complete. Leaders should make decisions ASAP.
Day 2: Challenge results given. Voting process begins. You have 24 hours to vote. Must vote 2 people into the vault.
Day 3: The 3 people who are entering the vault are announced, and the paymaster has 24 hours to eliminate one of them. Additionally, during this time period, you will be voting for your team leader for the next challenge.
Day 4: Challenge given (cycle repeats)
:: Other ::
Have fun, be active, and don't make it personal. Fun is meant to be had by all, but it will only really work if all the rules are respected and followed.
~~~
So having read all that, post below if you're interested! Official sign-ups will start within the next few days if there's enough interest. If not then I'll just badger people until there is!

This should be fun, I'd be up for it.
Does this require a lot of AIM activity? I don't expect to be able to actively use it tbh.

Nah, I wasn't going to include AIM as part of the sign ups. People are welcome to use it to communicate if they want, though. Or skype, or PMs, or whatever.

Vern! Do you remember NAIEs I Love Money?
I was on a hot streak so the resident asshole got my check voided.
Joke was on him though the admin's friend accidentally deleted the site not long after my departure.
Still would have liked to see how the game finished. RIP that community.
Needless to say, interested.
