In the quiet town of Colleen, Ohio, a killer is on the loose.
A reward has been offered to twelve ordinary people. They
have been sent to Colleen to play the killer's twisted game.
Now they must enter the mind of a killer and and solve the
mystery before they are eliminated one-by-one …
Murder in Small Town X is based upon the 2001 FOX television series of the same name. Part reality TV competition and part murder mystery, MiSTX draws heavily upon genres such as the psychological thriller, the police procedural, the "cozy mystery", and the classic whodunnit.
Players will be thrust into the roles of amateur investigators and tasked with catching the killer terrorizing a small town. As outsiders in an insular community, the players must slowly unravel the longstanding web of secrets and relationships that exists between the suspects and the victims. At the same time they will be forced to use their intuition, investigative abilities and social skills to avoid being targeted by their fellow investigators and eliminated by the killer.
At the end of the game, only one player will remain to catch the killer—Will it be you?

I don't think there have been many games/ORGs based on it. It faded into obscurity pretty quickly after |
the winner died in the World Trade Centers. :\ |
I think the premise works well for gaming, though!

Most definitely, Nofo. I'd say the interacting with townies will probably be the most significant factor in the investigation.

I have wanted to see the show, but I have not been able to find any copies floating around the internet. This sounds like the next best thing! |

I usually look about once a year to see if a download has popped up anywhere. A long time ago there was a Youtube channel but it got taken down.
But it looks like there's a new one that just uploaded all of the episodes last month.

Yeah, I've been trying to track down a copy forever. The one that keeps getting uploaded to YouTube is missing large swathes of the first couple episodes, I think.

I told someone that I started to watch it last year (FE's own JUSTIN!) and he immediately said, "SUX THAT THE WINNER DIED ON 9/11!!!" So as I was watching the first episode and I saw "Angel, NY Firefighter" I was like welp |

I don't wanna derail, but has anyone seen the British version, The Murder Game? I found it on youtube and I'm probably gonna watch. Might make a thread if anyone else wants to watch
