A thread will be created in due time with ticket totals and the tickets you will earn for each advancement. All of you each have one ticket for entering.
Due to the number of participants, we will need to do a prelimnary round. For this game, all of you will be playing. The six best will receive a "bye" for the first round, meaning they'll be completely immune from elimination. Everyone else will be bracketed. The good news here is that nobody will be eliminated for this particular game!
...which you might be happy to hear as the very first game is...
Yes, the incredibly simple yet incredibly frustrating mathematics game will be our opening contest. Use the arrow keys to slide numbers around a 4x4 grid, combining matching numbers into a new one. With each move you make, a 2 or 4 tile will appear onto the grid. Once you are out of moves, it's game over for you. While getting 2048 is considered "victory", be sure to press "keep going" as you will be playing until you can get the highest numbered tile you can reach.
Once you get a score you're satisfied with, screenshot it and PM it to me. In the screenshot, I will be looking for your highest numbered tile. The score on top (Current, not highest) will be used in the case of a tie.
Since this is a non-elimination round, submission is totally optional. If you don't want to compete, please send a PM saying "no submission" to keep things moving along.
You have until midnight tomorrow to submit a score, but results will come earlier if I get everyone before then. You can send multiple submissions if you feel like you can beat your previous score, but do keep in mind that scores will lock once I have one from everybody.
