I think there were some fans of this here
I'm really enjoying it so far. The last thing I did was the BOONE mission where I had to find who sold out his wife. |
And I KNEW it was that Jeannie May bitch the whole time, but I thought I'd go and talk to some other people just to be sure (apparently I was supposed to talk to someone who would actually TELL me who the killer was, but I never found him). When it became clear that none of the rest did it, I went back to her but the option to lead her to the front of the dinosaur was GONE! Then I went back to a few of the other people and the only one that still had that option the 2nd time talking to them was the other cadet, so I just had Boone snipe him. And I lost karma for it (: |
I don't think I've even made it very far at all but I feel COMPELLED to do all the sidequests and explore everything before moving on to anything else in the main quest
And like I said in the Recently Play thread, I LOVE the atmosphere this game has. The music is so great.

Another thing I like is how ambiguous most of your choices are. There's sometimes no right answer to anything, no matter what you'll piss one faction off. I like that a lot better than most games I've played where it's really obvious what the good/evil options are
The only (minor) complaints I'd have are the graphics, which are a bit ehhh at times, even if the game came out about 3 years ago. And I do wish there was a bit more music. AS MUCH AS I LOVE "Johnny Guitar", it does seem like that plays like every 10 minutes (:

Yeah, this exactly. I go crazy with the steam sales every time but I don't actually play very often.
Maybe I'll make this the next game I give a try | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

I really need to go through the DLC for this. I bought ultimate edition, but didn't actually ever install the DLC until after I'd beaten the main questline, because I figured it'd make the endgame too easy. (It does in Fallout 3. If you beat Anchorage and get the Chinese stealth armor, the rest of the game is pitifully easy if you have any melee skill at all.)
Just fun I'm going to try and do it on hardcore mode as well, because I'd like to believe I'm capable of it. |

My first New Vegas play through was amazing. The amount of choice is awesome. I think it is very underrated compared to Fallout 3. It is a better game, but the shit ton of bugs that came with release did it no favours.
Fallout 3 was kind of a departure from the original games, and whilst it was still great, it didn't capture the atmosphere and horror the way New Vegas does.
And in Fallout 3, there kind of came a point in the game where you had advanced enough that you could pretty much walk around the wasteland without a care in the world. In New Vegas, that shit is scary no matter what level you are. Doesn't matter how much XP you get, you still end up doing your best to avoid deathclaws and those awful giant Cazadores.

I've been playing Fallout 3 lately. It's one of those games I play a few missions of then get distracted and play something else. It's insanely fun though. I kinda see where Wikey is coming from as far as the Wasteland getting kind of pathetic. I use to be absolutely terrified of trekking around but I can pretty much kill all the enemies in one shot that I come across now.... unless they level up eventually from the occasional molerat or bloatfly.
Anyway I recently stumbled upon Tenpenny Tower while looking for Vault 12, which is pretty neat. Although I may have fucked myself up. I went to the top floor, as soon as I saw Tenpenny I just blew his head off with a shotgun for no reason. I originally intended to just reload, but I got good karma for doing this and figured I probably saved myself from him inevitably sending his entire crew after me anyway. Spent the next half hour showing his headless corpse to all his guards while wearing his suit. The only thing they had to say was HEY BE CAREFUL WITH THAT. No idea if I just screwed myself out of missions or ruined any questlines by doing this but oh well.
Anyway once I'm done with 3, I definitely plan on moving on to New Vegas. |

I was about to leave the town of Novac but I just couldn't let Jeannie May live after what she'd done. So I went into her office and, after she so graciously gave me a free motel room for all the good I had done for the town, I took out a cleaver and went to town on her. And in return, I got good karma, and I had so much goodwill in the town already that even though I gained infamy I was still idolized (: WIN-WIN! Then I saw the Bill of Sale and it turned out Jeannie May ALSO sold the unborn baby into slavery. That BITCH!
I left off last night chasing the checkered-suit guy to New Vegas after he betrayed his gang. Really enjoying this game so far. I just love all the FREEDOM with choices you have. I can't imagine the sheer amount of programming that must've went in to every eventuality. I imagine that's why the game was so buggy on release |

If you've got the DLC it gets a lot harder when you level up. Feral ghouls, Super mutants, Radscorpions, and a few others get
nigh-on-unkillable upgrades, and it's hard as hell to kill them with anything short of the Fat Man. |

I went heavy with my speech stat and have been on every level-up. Got the Lady Killer/Confirmed Bachelor perks too. Doing better in combat is one thing but I think it's a lot more fun to be able to convince people to do certain stuff
Plus I made my character look like Abe Lincoln so it only makes sense

I was pretty evil in Fallout 3, and wanted to be a good/ a hero in this one but that isn't happening. I'm just going to be impulsive when it comes to making decisions both in and out of conversations.

I loved Fallout 3. I did a playthrough with both good and evil choices. I am in the same boat. I have wanted to play this since it came out but something always got in the way.
