Anyone seen or heard of this show?
It's a British murder mystery about the death of a young kid. David Tennant is the star. I heard it was very good despite it's somewhat typical premise so I decided to watch it
VERY glad I did! There's only one season of eight episodes. I watched them all today. It's a really great show. It's compared to The Killing a lot and I can see why. It really deals with the aftermath of the murder on the quiet community. Again, very typical, but reallyyy well done
David Tennant and the other lead detective were both great in it. The dirt that's dug up around the town from the investigation doesn't ever feel forced. The worst part about shows like this is that there's always the most wild shit secretly going on in these seemingly ordinary towns and it's all unearthed at once. While it definitely does have that, they really don't seem too extravagant and they're brought up naturally in the investigation process
Also, the show is incredibly sad. Especially the pilot
Eight episodes, 45 minutes each. Definitely worth watching

I wanted to see this the second I saw Tennant. I'll try and convince Robette to watch it with me. |

My Mac they're making an American version of this, starring...David Tennant (: . He's playing the same role. Skylar White from Breaking Bad is playing the female detective
Isn't that strange? I hate it tbh. It better be different enough to make it worth it

Oh weird!
They are making a season 2 of it too... but an american version just sounds silly. Like any other crimeshows really.

Just watched the pilot
|
Eh, not bad. Definitely feels like a step down after Top of the Lake though. I don't really care about any of the characters yet. Although I have a feeling the show will pick up after this
And oh look it's my friends Walder and Grey Worm! I have a feeling Walder did it. Tommy(?) feels way too obvious, and so does the dad |

Second episode was pretty good. Some of the lines can still be pretty cringeworthy but meh. Like the cliche "IS THIS REALLY NECESSARY?!" when the family's fingerprints are being taken
I like how much they try to paint everyone as a possible suspect. |
My gut still says it's Walder tho. I'm interested to see why the dad's fingerprints were at the shack though. I hate that twat |

I saw it the day the pilot came out and I was hooked! The American version is called Gracepoint, and from what I've seen of the trailer so far, it seems almost identical to the original.
I like this, but then again I don't. If it does turn out the same way, then it's a let down, because I already know who does it and why.
I REALLY hope that there will be subtle changes enough to change who the criminal is, and my expectations will be high.

i thought it was alright. the ending wasn't very predictable and it was all done well, but i typically enjoy a little fun in my shows.
the sidekick lady was great though, especially in that confrontation scene

He has an (attempted) American accent.
You can still hear the Scottish in him and it cringed when I heard it.
