Book readers seem to...wouldn't say dislike, but maybe have the most criticisms from what I've seen, mostly due to changes made from the book and disliking those changes so far. Even Sanderson seems to openly disagree with a couple, but I've also heard they've taken the largest amount of notes from him, so. Good with the bad. I've only read a chapter or two, so I guess I'll share my thoughts as a filthy casual.

Biggest thing I've noticed is that they've had trouble with pacing. I know they requested a two hour premiere but only got the one hour, and it definitely shows. Personally had a hard time even recognizing the characters during the trolloc attack because we barely had any time to get to know them (but I also generally suck at faces, so). That scene just would have had so much more weight with an extra hour of character/setting building leading up to it. And god, why are people still using shaky cam in 2021? Literally everyone hates shaky cam. Nobody wants to see shaky cam. I suspect they might do that to get away with rougher CGI during scenes with a lot of movement, but it's so bad in contrast to the effort put into all the other visuals.
I've enjoyed it overall, though, so far. I do hear it gets better toward the end, though for some reason they kept the last two episodes from critics. I think the biggest thing is that it may be more-so disappointing than inherently bad. I definitely felt a lot of that with The Witcher, though I should have known better with it coming from Netflix. I'd probably put the two in the same tier for now. A lot of my own criticism would be yeeted if they just got the longer season they asked for (10 episodes with 2 hour premiere). Glad Amazon's cheapness has shot itself in the foot a bit here by killing a lot of hype.
It's gotten better each episode so far. Think this last one put it in the tier above The Witcher now for me. Had no idea this was being done by the Rafe from Survivor, lol.
There are some things I really like about the show so far and some things I didn't like quite as much.
There has been a bunch of swedish actors in this so that's very cool as well.
The season finale was.... pretty bad.
To be fair they had an actor leave the show so they had to rewrite on the go, but still the writing was really REALLY bad in parts completely unnecessarily.
And it was written by the showrunner (like ep 1 which was also bad imo), which makes me have very little confidence it will get better in season 2.
Maybe they can reboot it without a fucking Survivor contestant making it?
