By popular demand (not really but here you go Christian), I now present to you my own personal thread, specifically about my job! Most of you are aware I work at a pet store and have been for the past 3 years. I've met many good boys and other fur babies so this thread will ultimately be a picture dump of all the different animals we see and have at the store, with a possible work rant sprinkled in here and there.

One of the cutest puppies that came in this week.
Posted Image

One of our cats that got adopted! His name is Licorice and he's a very big fluffy boy
Posted Image

Chinese water dragon that we had a couple months ago. We've since gotten a different reptile to sell after these were gone
Posted Image

Veiled Chameleon! I love this girl, but they usually don't like to be handled very much. This one will eat crickets from my hand though so that's cool
Posted Image

Of course, we've got the beardies! Probably one of the most popular reptiles we have. Super social with people as long as they're handled properly! Also lol at the one in the corner
Posted Image

Last one for now, a milk snake! I watched it eat a mouse :)

Excellent. I really do love this idea for a thread.
And I liked the variety of animals you have shown us. The Chinese water dragon is cool. And the veiled chameleon looks so small! I've always pictured chameleons to be bigger. Is it a lot of fun to work there?
Do you have any fun stories about customers or any really attractive people that might come into the store? lol

The chameleon is just a baby and will definitely get bigger! We also have a tarantula and scorpion. I'll try to find my good pics of those guys.

I think I have one or two great stories; mostly Karens and morons who don't know how to take care of their animals. Sometimes they're both!

I took all of these today. We had some new arrivals!

First up, the reptiles! Starting off with our newest pink toed tarantula
Posted Image

Then we have our Black Asian Forest Scorpion, who is just finishing off a cricket dinner
Posted Image

I forgot to take a picture of this guy last time, but this is our Albino Pacman Frog. From the front, he looks like Hypnotoad
Posted Image

Our last Milk Snake sold, so we got a new one!
Posted Image

And our new new, a California King Snake! I know nothing about this kind of snake but I'm excited to learn!

Now for the fuzzies!!

We got new kittens in today! We do a rotation with local shelters to make sure everyone that wants to participate gets a fair share of time to get their kitties adopted and help clear the shelters a little bit. These two love attention!

Two pictures of the first one. Luvie! He's about 4 months old and is a very cuddly shoulder kitty. His tail whips around a lot and he can never keep still

The second is a little bit more timid, but still wants to be held. His name is Avalon

And then, some puppies that people brought in today!

I'm not really a cat person, but both of those cats are cute. The puppies are even cuter.

The story time I have from tonight is a woman who wanted to return an open bag of treats. She had the receipt which was great until I noticed she bought the treats back in February. Her reason for returning them? Her dog didn’t like them.

I had to gently explain to her that our return policy is only within the 30 days of purchase and we wouldn’t be able to take them back. Then she claimed someone told her she could bring them back if her dog didn’t like them (:

She did not get a refund.

You should have asked her if she would want to eat a treat that's been open since February.

That actually reminds me of a story my coworker told me!

This guy came in and wanted to find a different dog food that was cheaper because he was tired of spending so much on food every week. He has no idea what the name of the food is, just that it was a square kibble.

So coworker is walking him around, showing him our higher quality brands and he mentions the dog is a really picky eater because of the mix of the kibble and table scraps. Just an FYI for all you pet owners: don’t feed your pet table scraps as a meal. It makes them really picky.

He picks out a bag of food, which is actually one of our most expensive bags, and at check out he points to something and says that’s the food he’s been feeding his dog.

It was a large container of cat treats.
