At long last! My first REAL foray into Fallout

I had played 3 a bit in college but didn’t get anywhere. Played New Vegas years ago and posted about my starting sesh here but I also got nowhere, I played for like ten minutes maybe. It went on sale the other day so I grabbed it and all DLCs. Finally time to dive in

I was gonna post my thoughts in the NV thread but I don’t feel like spamming it and I don’t wanna navigate the spoiler posts tbh. Fresh thread!

I have no plans on how to play in terms of good or evil or whatnot, just gonna see what happens. Also I know nothing about the game spoiler wise which is nice

I almost always name my characters after myself and make them in my likeness. Not this time! Used a random name generator and randomized the face then made some adjustments

I knew I recognized the doctor’s voice. Michael Hogan! Tigh from BSG, my fav character. Now I feel bad for immediately killing him all those years ago

I’m basically playing as Lee (I look like him) and the very first voice I heard on my pipboy was Lee’s (Happy Trails). Funny!

This feels kinda weird with all DLC downloaded off the bat. I’ve got a bunch of missions already due to DLC. I didn’t think it’d work like that

You walk (and run) too slow. My jaw DROPPED when I learned that I had “always sprint” already on when I was trying to figure out how to run. You call this running??

I started playing not too long ago either, I too hate the always running

This is my favorite game of all time but I never played Old War Blues. I was going to play it after beating the campaign without realizing that.... wasn't possible! And since I never saved, my autosaves are all in the middle of the final mission so it never came to be.

So protip Curt, don't save any DLC campaign until after the main campaign. Cause once the story is over, it's over.

It was that bitch who wants you to save his girl but then betrays you because he was lying. I got killed the first time because I had no ammo left to deal with him. Then when I revived I meta-murdered him after denying his request. The fool had no idea that I knew he was planning on betraying me!

Oh also I won’t be using spoiler tags in this thread, that’s part of why I wanted a separate one. So read at your own risk if you happened to have also not played yet

Yes. Aside from it being obvious, think there's a pop up that warns you.

I fucking love that you just walk into a strangers house and get them out of bed at gunpoint and they stand right up and say howdy, what can I do for ya

Holy shit after the fight against the Powder Gangers I was looting their corpses and realized the headless corpse I was looting was TRUDY!
