First I know this thread will only appeal to me. And kinda to KC since he just finished this game. Maybe to others idk. KC and I were talking about how more people should make personals threads like his video game backlog or my 39 horror challenge. Its fun! I'm a sucker for lists and checking things off so this stuff is right up my alley

KC inspired me to play Black Flag and I've been loving it. I decided recently to commit to trying to 100% complete it which..takes some work. AC games are pretty big and this is no exception. Lots to do. I used to love Achievement hunting on Xbox but I haven't really shot for anything like that in awhile, most games I play nowadays don't really fit, been awhile since I've played a solo campaign game

SO, next post is gonna be my % numbers for different categories and where I'm at and all that. Ill basically be talking to myself and updating the numbers after each play sesh to see what changed

I’m pretty close to the end of the main story. I stopped just short of the end (I think) to try to start collecting everything and doing side missions. I wish I had those numbers before I started focusing on it because I’ve gotten a lot done lately but o well


Abstergo Missions: these are basically achievements. One of these was to hold 100k at one time so I recently stocked up and saved for that. That hurt me in the main game though. Major ship upgrades are expensive and I held off from buying any. Each ship mission would yell at me and say hey man you should realllllyyyy upgrade your ship before starting this! So it stalled my progress and made some missions very very tough. I also blew all my money on my island hideout upgrades early, whoops. But I recently got 100k fairly easily by pillaging ships, once I learned how to efficiently earn money it wasn’t hard. The rest of the missions I’m chipping away at. None seem particularly challenging

That’s where I’m at atm. Game is kind enough to tell me all of this, yippee. I’m kinda waiting for the moment I realize there’s something unachievable that’ll prevent me from getting 100%, we’ll see. I feel like that’s often the case. Thankfully multiplayer doesn’t bleed into this and there’s no play the game for 3000 hours or something terrible. I have a feeling I do need to do every bonus objective for every mission in order to get 100% which will suck so...we’ll see!

Oh I uh...beat the game! Turns out I was exactly at the final mission. (Wish the end fight was more..epic in scale). Good stuff tho

Up to 91%. Got a lot of shit done. Beat the game, unlocked that assassins armor, bought all the art, finished upgrading my home island, defeated the final naval fort which is great because now I have everything mapped. The sea is MIIIIIINE

Slightly concerned about a glitch I’m encountering where the final naval contract isn’t appearing for me. Looked it up and it wasn’t appearing for others too but it looks like there’s a solution, I just didn’t look too deeply into it yet. If that remains a glitch it’ll prevent me from finishing

Nvm! That was fast. Figured it out and beat the last naval contract which unlocked the golden pistols for me. Not sure why pistols and sword aren’t at 100 since I bought them all, hoping that maybe there’s one left from each that I get by finishing more stuff

93% Main Sequences means I have to do every single optional objective in a main mission....yikes. That's some work. I was trying to do those anyway when I first started the game but then quickly abandoned the idea. That'll be the thing that takes the longest for sure, I BASICALLY have to play the whole game again

A lot of shit just fell into place. Big stuff crossed off. The Mayan puzzles, every viewpoint, every manuscript, every smuggler’s den, and every assassination contract are done now. Also I was right, I got a sword for completing the contracts

Unfortunately I think some items are...unattainable. Apparently there was one sword and one pistol that were apart of community challenges which aren’t a thing anymore, so ANYONE who plays nowadays might not be able to get 100%. That’s so fucking DUMB! They should’ve dumped that for free in an update once they stopped supporting the game. I hate that. This project might be over before it really began! We’ll see, I’m gonna dig more online and see if it’s at all possible to get. Very discouraging tho

And apparently the Mayan gold armor I just got by doing the Mayan puzzles deflects bullets?? Cool. It looks badass

Can't say I did! Matter of fact I upgraded guns very.... sparingly. I don't like the gun play in AC at all. At least it was better than ACIII which I thought was clunky and awful. This seemed a little like the Fable series in a way. But alas. I just slashed away.

And I personally thought the end kind of DRAGGED a bit. But it was satisfying to finally kill him.

I prefer swords but there’s kinda nothing better than slashing three enemies and then quickly whipping around and blasting a fourth one as he lunges at you. The gold guns are great, they make it effortless. Easy to see why you can’t get them til you’re done

Same with the Mayan golden armor. It does in fact deflect bullets (:

One of my side activity bars is greyed out as if I haven’t even started it yet. It turns out it’s sinking the four Legendary ships. Oh boy. Those things are insane, they make Man O Wars look like NOTHING. That’s gonna be so hard

Well, more good news...and more bad news! Got a few other things out of the way. Pouches are straight out of the red and now 100% done. All underwater sites have also been looted which means I’ve now explored the entire map officially

The bad news: the fittingly titled white whale. It isn’t attainable anymore. I looked it up and those were ALSO only available during community events! Lovely. I knew something like that would happen. That means I can’t 100% the Abstergo challenges because one challenge is to kill 6/6 sea animals and I’ll be stuck at 5/6 until the end of them. I haaaate it, no idea why they wouldn’t update that

Only played for a bit. Trying to cleanup all the chests and fragments that are floating around the ocean on those tiny islands, those take some time. I also got every buried chest that I have a map for, I’ve got one more map to unlock but I get it by finishing Kenway’s Fleet which is a grinding thing so I gotta wait

The good news, white whales are IN the game! They’re community challenges but they’re actually still available, just rate. I came across one so I was able to finish that challenge. The sword and pistol still seem to be unattainable tho :(

lol I just added five AC games to my Steam wishlist last night and figured Id wait for them to go on sale and snag one or two. All five went on sale....TODAY!

AC Odyssey 18 bucks

Those last two are down from 60 and are considered two of the best. HMMMMM!

Currently grinding through the Kenway fleet tasks all for ONE buried chest at the end! The wait time is up to 24 hours now on some of that stuff, it’s brutal. Not a whole lot of mindless stuff I can do anymore, it’s all about pillaging ships right now for wood and metal for upgrades. I have one upgrade left to my ship and then I can take on the intimidating as fuck legendary ships
